Getting to know Dr. Lauren Wilson

I’m Dr. Lauren Wilson, a board-certified psychiatrist offering compassionate, personalized mental health care for adults through a private, telehealth-based practice. I specialize in the treatment of ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), perinatal and postpartum mental health, eating disorders, trauma-related conditions, anxiety, and mood disorders. My patients often include high-achieving professionals, caregivers, neurodivergent individuals, and those navigating life transitions who are looking for more than a prescription—they want an engaged partner in their mental health journey. I offer comprehensive evaluations, thoughtful medication management, and integrative psychotherapy with an emphasis on understanding the whole person. If you are looking for a psychiatrist who will take the time to truly listen, understand, and collaborate with you, I would be honored to work together.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe psychiatric care should be thoughtful, collaborative, and deeply respectful of your individuality. When we work together, my goal is not just to reduce symptoms—but to help you better understand yourself, feel more grounded, and make meaningful progress in your life. Our first session is a comprehensive 60-minute evaluation, where we’ll explore your history, current challenges, and goals. I’ll ask questions, but also listen closely to how you make sense of your experience. I don't rush. My approach integrates evidence-based treatment with curiosity, empathy, and clinical insight. I welcome patients who are motivated to engage in a deeper process—whether that includes medication, therapy, or both. I also have particular expertise working with neurodivergent individuals (including ADHD and autism), those in perinatal or postpartum transitions, and those navigating eating disorders, anxiety, or trauma recovery. As a private pay, out-of-network psychiatrist, I’m able to offer longer appointment times, direct access, and greater flexibility than many traditional settings. If you're looking for care that honors both your complexity and your autonomy, you’re in the right place.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process is designed to be thorough, respectful, and centered on you. We begin with a 60-minute initial evaluation where I’ll take time to understand your history, current symptoms, goals, and what’s brought you to seek care now. I’ll also explore your preferences and past experiences with therapy or medication. After the evaluation, I’ll offer personalized treatment recommendations, which may include medication management, psychotherapy, or both. I work collaboratively—you’ll never be pressured into a treatment you’re not comfortable with. If we decide to work together, we’ll schedule follow-up visits based on your needs. These may be 30-minute medication visits or 45-minute sessions that include supportive therapy. I offer care through a private telehealth model, which allows for more focused, flexible, and private appointments. I do not accept insurance, but I can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. My goal is to build a working relationship that feels safe, attuned, and clinically effective—so you can grow, heal, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

More information on payments and coverage

I am an out-of-network, private pay psychiatrist and do not accept insurance directly. This allows me to provide longer, more personalized appointments, greater privacy, and a higher level of flexibility than many in-network practices. Payment is due at the time of service. I accept major credit and debit cards through a secure patient portal. Upon request, I can provide a detailed superbill that you may submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan. Please note that I do not work with Medicare or Medicaid, even for private pay. I recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to ask about out-of-network mental health coverage, including deductibles, reimbursement rates, and requirements for psychiatric care.
