About Dr. Lawrence Herman
We understand that Dr. Herman's schedule is very busy, but we would like to help accommodate you. Dr. Lawrence Herman specializes in diseases of the digestive tract with a focus on the diagnosis and prevention of gastrointestinal cancers. His medical interests include the diagnosis and treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disorder, peptic ulcer disease, celiac disease, colorectal cancer, irritable bowel syndrome, gastrointestinal bleeding, and inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Herman earned his Bachelor's degree from Columbia University and his Doctor of Medicine from Cornell University. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital / Weill Cornell Medical Center and his fellowship in Gastroenterology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. We are affiliated with Carnegie Hill Endoscopy, the premier gastrointestinal procedure center in Manhattan.

Extremely empathetic, attentive and clear with explanations. Dr Herman combines extreme professionalism and a down to earth approach, which made this consultation minimally unpleasant. Also, the welcome staff were unusually friendly and helpful!

As always, Doctor Herman was kind, cosiderate and concerned. He suggested causes of my problem to be follwed up by testing and referral. He put me at ease discussing my digestive difficulties and was accepting of my indelicate descriptions and demonstration of my issues. Dr. Herman provided me with medical information that was both informative and supportive in helping me make medical decisions about my health.

Dr. Herman was a wonderful listener. He is very detailed minded and went through every possible reason for my diarrhea with me. He also made a treatment plan for me that has multiple well structured alternatives. Clearly very knowledgeable and experienced. The officers at the office are friendly as well. Dr. Hermann is no nonsense. He's thorough, clear, empathetic, asks a lot of questions and walks you through everything.
The staff are friendly, professional, and kind.
The doctor's humor is very New York (a little sarcastic, he nailed me with a couple of deadpan zingers), but to be fair, that's my style and he may just have been making me comfortable. I feel confident I'm in good hands.

Dr. Herman is brilliant! He chatted with me like he had all the time in the world. He took everything into consideration and had an excellent idea concerning the reason for my problem. He is a unique doctor, as he is caring, kind and very intelligent. I feel very grateful to be treated by him.
