About Dr. Lawrence Santi
Dr. Lawrence Santi has been practicing podiatry for over 30 years and is well known in the podiatry community. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, and is a Founding Member of the American Society of Podiatric Surgeons. He is a board member of the American Podiatric Medical Association as well as the Past-President of the New York State Podiatric Medical Association, Past President of the Foundation for Podiatric Medicine, and Past President of the American Association of Hospital Podiatrists.
Dr. Santi is currently the Chief of Podiatry at New York Community Hospital of Brooklyn and is the Director of their Podiatric Residency Program. He has been training residents for over 25 years and is a prominent lecturer in his field. Dr. Santi is a consultant at the Wound Care Center of Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, and a Senior Attending at the Diabetic Clinic of the Cumberland Diagnostic & Treatment Center, a part of Woodhull Hospital Center of Brooklyn. He has been specializing in Diabetic Limb Salvage for over 30 years.
Dr. Santi was born and raised in Flushing New York. He attended St. John’s University for his undergraduate education and followed his passion for medicine to the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City. Dr. Santi graduated from podiatry school in 1979 after which he completed his surgical residency training at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn.

The office is small and I did not see a place to hang coats, etc, but otherwise great place. The doctor was extremely pleasant, was able to answer all of my questions and understood exactly what I was talking about when I described my vaque symptoms. All-in-all a very good experience.

The doctor is a great doctor however his bed Side manners are horrible. The doctor picked up the phone and chatted with his wife on speaker for about 5 minutes to discuss a plumbing issue at their home. This is not something that should be done in the presence of a patient. That phone call has nothing to do with the patient of the taking away time from the patient. That is a unprofessional practice.

Dr. Santi seems like a very knowledgeable doctor and on my first visit he was happy to explain things in great detail. My second visit I waited 1 hour and 45 min to be seen. The waiting room was PACKED and a person was sitting on the floor with no mask on? There were a lot of older patients there so them being that packed into a space during covid made me uncomfortable. Since there was no where to sit I had to wait outside with my broken foot... there was also no apology for the wait time. I will be seeing someone else for my follow up appointments because the wait time and the amount of people crammed into this place during covid seems reckless.

The staff was very friendly, joyful, helpful and informative. The wait time wasn't too long. Staff and patients had masks on. The doctor had on his mask and tools very cleaned but did not wear gloves; it's possible that he sanitizes his hands before and after and saves on latex-waste. He was also very friendly, informative, helpful, humorous and kind. I'm looking forward to returning to follow up!

I was nervous of not being taken seriously because I’m so young, but Dr. Santi showed he truly cares and wants his patients to get better. I went on a holiday which was why there was a little wait time, but he assured me that it would be less people any other day. I am excited for my journey with Dr. Santi and I highly recommend him.
