Getting to know Laywell Tedoe

I am a board certified nurse practitioner who is passionate about supporting women through life's transition. I offer virtual psychiatric evaluations and medication management for women navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, and hormonally-related mental health concerns. Many of the women I work with feel overwhelmed, dismissed, or exhausted from trying to manage their symptoms alone. My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and individualized taking the time to understand your history, your goals, and what has or hasn’t worked for you in the past. All appointments are virtual, allowing you to receive care from the comfort of your home. My goal is to help you feel informed, supported, and confident in your treatment plan.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you work with me, you can expect a thoughtful, collaborative, and unrushed approach to psychiatric care. I take time to understand your full picture — including your mental health history, physical health, hormonal factors, life stressors, and what you’re hoping to get out of treatment. Medication decisions are made together, with clear explanations, realistic expectations, and respect for your preferences. My goal is never to overmedicate or rush treatment, but to use medication intentionally and responsibly when it can support your overall well-being. Additionally, I do not prescribe controlled medication or stimulants in VT, CO, RI or AZ. If you’re already in therapy, I value collaboration and am happy to coordinate care so your treatment feels aligned and supportive. Appointments are conducted via secure telehealth, and you can expect a professional, compassionate space where your concerns are taken seriously and your questions are welcomed.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first visit is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation where we review your current concerns, mental health history, medical history, medications, and treatment goals. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to better understand patterns in your mood, anxiety, attention, sleep, and how life events or hormonal changes may be affecting you. While I do not provide ongoing talk therapy, sessions are conversational and supportive. The focus is on assessment, education, and collaborative decision-making. If medication is appropriate, we’ll discuss options in detail, including benefits, potential side effects, and what to expect moving forward. Follow-up visits are used to monitor symptoms, assess how treatment is working, make adjustments as needed, and ensure you feel informed and supported. If you’re working with a therapist or other provider, I’m happy to coordinate care so your treatment feels aligned. All appointments are conducted via secure telehealth.
