Dr. Lee Diener, DNP

Nurse Practitioner (Psychotherapy)
MI
My name is Lee Diener, DNP, PMHNP-BC. I earned my Doctorate in Adult Nursing from Grand Valley State University. As a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, I help teenagers, adults, and older adults work through a wide range of difficulties that are part of the human experience: mood and anxiety-related concerns, sleep difficulties, life transitions, identity questions, loss and grief, social anxiety, PTSD, and trauma. As a PMHNP, I provide psychiatric assessment and diagnostic services, as well as treatment-including psychotropic medication management, when indicated-and psychotherapy. An initial biopsychosocial history is a foundational piece of treatment planning. For those interested in therapy, we spend time discussing the therapeutic process-setting the groundwork for the therapeutic alliance-and mapping out provisional treatment goals. My goal is to be a supportive person to you. We are complex beings, and the success of the work we do to make sense of and heal extremely painful experiences depends less on a particular theoretical or therapeutic framework and more on our ability to create together a safe space where you can take risks: to feel painful emotions, develop a language for understanding them, and thrive alongside them.
