What should a new client know about working with you?

As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, my approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in respect for your lived experience. I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel comfortable talking openly about what you’re going through. In our sessions, I take time to truly listen and understand the full picture—your symptoms, your goals, your history, and what’s important to you. I combine evidence-based practices with a holistic view of mental health, which means considering not just medication but also your lifestyle, environment, and supports. I offer medication management as well as brief, supportive therapy during appointments. If more in-depth therapy is needed, I can help connect you with a therapist who aligns with your needs. Whether you’re new to mental health treatment or returning to care, we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you. My goal is to empower you with tools, knowledge, and support to help you feel more in control of your mental health and overall well-being.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Your first few sessions will focus on getting a full understanding of who you are and what brings you in. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I’ll spend time gathering information about your symptoms, mental health history, medical background, current stressors, and goals for treatment. This is all part of the diagnostic process and helps guide your personalized care plan. Initial evaluations usually last a bit longer and are focused on understanding the full picture. Follow-up sessions are typically shorter and may focus on how you’re responding to treatment, medication management, and adjusting the plan as needed. In addition to medication management, I may also incorporate brief supportive or solution-focused therapy into our visits, depending on your needs. If ongoing talk therapy would be helpful, I can help coordinate care with a therapist who aligns with your goals. Throughout your care, I aim to create a safe, collaborative space where we can work together to support your mental health in a way that feels thoughtful, respectful, and effective.
