About Lena Kramer
Lena Kramer is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in dermatology, certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), and licensed by the state of Illinois to practice and prescribe medications as well as perform surgical procedures.
Lena grew up in Northbrook, Illinois, and Scottsdale, Arizona, receiving her undergraduate degree from Arizona State University. She then went on to obtain her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Midwestern University where she completed focused training in both plastic surgery and dermatology, in addition to her required general medical training. She has been practicing dermatology since 2017 and stays abreast of new advances in dermatology by attending courses and conferences routinely.
Lena is able to diagnose and treat a vast amount of dermatological conditions and performs cosmetic procedures such as neurotoxin, chemical peels, laser, and microneedling. She provides each patient with a personalized approach to both their medical care and skincare routine, and she looks forward to seeing you at our Skokie and Northbrook locations.

I've been seeing Lena Kramer for 3 years now and she is absolutely WONDERFUL. I loved her so much that I
followed her from her previous practice in Munster, IN to her new practice in Skokie, IL at the Illinois Dermatology
Institute. With her empathetic and informative approach, she has completely changed my skin and hair in the last
few years.
I am in my early 30's, so skin care and an effective routine is extremely important to me. I went from having
hormonal breakouts and acne on my forehead and chin to completely glowing and clear skin thanks to Lena.
Most importantly, I experienced extreme hair loss due to stress/ COVID in the Fall of 2020. As one can imagine,
losing all your hair at 29 was completely defeating, traumatizing, and scary. Dr. Kramer heard my concerns and
emotions, thoroughly and thoughtfully explained the condition (Telogen Effluvium), and created a well thought out
routine and care plan for hair growth. With that, she ran all blood tests to cover our bases, suggested supplements
where needed, prescribed the most effective medications, and performed PRP injections on my scalp. Within 3
weeks, I was thrilled with the results. As you can see in the attached photos, I had significant hair growth in just 3
weeks :)

I had a wonderful experience seeing Lena at Illionis Dematology institute for my annual body scan. The staff was very welcoming and Lena was so friendly and well-mannered from the moment she walked in, and I immediately felt comfortable. It was by far the most thorough exam I have ever had and she really took her time to check everything out as well as answer all the questions I had. I will no doubt be going back to see Lena for all of my dermatology appointments.
