I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner. I conduct psychiatric evaluations, medication management, brief supportive therapy, medication-assisted weight loss, active wellness support, and GeneSight pharmacogenomic testing. I attended Widener University for my Bachelor's of Science in Nursing, Walden University for my Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and Wilkes University for my Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. I have been a medical provider for over 17 years, with experience treating psychiatric conditions in adults across various treatment settings such as acute care, long-term care, intensive outpatient programs, primary care, and outpatient mental health.
I am dual certified as a Family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and focus on treating the whole patient with an individualized treatment approach. I understand the importance of collaborating with patients to develop treatment plans, providing patient education, advocating for patients, and building a therapeutic alliance to support patients in achieving a better quality of life. I provide psychiatric care for adult patients ages 18 to 65 and older.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Leona has realized the importance of mental health with both having a strong family history of mental illness and identifying mental illness as a key barrier to physical health while working as primary care provider in low-income communities within Philadelphia. Identifying mental health challenges, having access to treatment, and receiving treatment is of vital importance for an individual's success and legacy. Leona will help you develop strategies to improve your quality of life.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
