What should a new client know about working with you?
“As your psychiatric nurse practitioner, my goal is to provide you with safe, effective, and evidence-based mental health care. I want to be transparent about my prescribing practices so that we can begin treatment with clear expectations.
Please note that I do not prescribe benzodiazepines (such as Xanax, Klonopin, or Ativan) due to their potential for dependence and long-term risks. We will focus instead on safer, evidence-supported options for managing anxiety and related conditions.
Additionally, for the safety of all patients, laboratory work and urine drug screening are required before prescribing any stimulant or other controlled (scheduled) medications. These steps help ensure that medications are prescribed safely and appropriately for your health needs.

What is your typical process for working with clients?
“As your psychiatric nurse practitioner, my goal is to provide comprehensive, safe, and individualized mental health care. To do this effectively, I take time during the initial stages of treatment to get to know you and fully understand your background and current concerns.
During our first visits, I will gather detailed intake information, including your medical history, psychiatric history, family history, and current symptoms. This helps me gain a complete picture of your overall health and any factors that may be contributing to how you’re feeling.
In many cases, I will also order laboratory work or other basic medical evaluations. These tests help rule out underlying medical conditions that could be causing or worsening psychiatric symptoms. While not every patient will require lab work, it is often an important part of ensuring that we create the most accurate and effective treatment plan possible.
This collaborative and thorough approach allows us to move forward confidently in developing a personalized plan for your mental health and well-being.”

I recently had the pleasure of being treated by NP Leronica Bedford, and I couldn't be more grateful for the exceptional care she provided.
Leronica took the time to carefully assess th situation, explain to me clearly what needed to be done, and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. She skillfully cleaned the area and drained the fluid with such precision that I barely felt a thing.
