About Dr. Leta Vega

Leta Vaughan began her career at Methodist College of Nursing in Peoria, earned her Master's in Nurse Midwifery through the University of Illinois at Chicago, and completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) at the University of Iowa. She is a licensed Advanced Practice Nurse in the state of Illinois and Board Certified through the American Midwifery Certification Board. With over 30 years of experience and expertise, Leta works closely with all aspects of gynecological care, having a particular passion and interest in fertility, bio-identical hormones, supplements, holistic choices, and obstetrics. Leta serves on the faculty at the University of Illinois at Chicago, which has led her to participate in research and advocate for an effective combination of balanced nutrition, exercise, and supplements to enhance women's changing lifestyle needs. She is one of four siblings. Leta has three married children and five grandchildren. She volunteers for the Wings program and is an advocate for the prevention of domestic violence. Leta is also involved with the Illinois Society of Advanced Practice Nurses and serves on the government relations committee. In her free time, she enjoys golf, biking, the arts, and theater.
