Letitia Osei Sam was born and raised in Ghana, West Africa, where she obtained a Marketing degree, followed by degrees in Psychology and Political Science. She then relocated to the United States with her husband and three sons, where she earned her CNA certification and began working in a nursing home and a hospital. Around this time, Letitia had her fourth son. She went on to obtain a degree in Nursing and eventually earned her Master's Degree in Nursing Education. She also completed a Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Colorado State University. Letitia is currently working on her DNP. She has worked with patients of all ages, with a preferred age range between 8 and 65 years.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Intakes take about an hour, and follow-up appointments take between 30-45mins. Listening is a very integral part of my practice and psychotherapy is part of my routine. My experiences range from inpatient, outpatient, Jails, and nursing homes to telepsychiatry. All my patients are treated with respect and dignity. Children are given a chance to express themselves just as adults. Patients are given about a 10-minute grace period when they are running late. Loveinstead Holistic Care is the best place to receive care.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
A typical session starts with an introduction and getting to know each other. Then, history and Allergies are addressed. Past and present diagnoses and medications are discussed. Psychotherapy is offered at all appointments. There is coordination of care with other providers, social workers, and therapists. Information received from family members will also be used to make the right decision for the patient.

My experience with Dr. Sam has been disappointing. I reached out multiple times that my mental health was deteriorating severely after being taken off my medications due to pregnancy. Despite being very clear about the urgency of my situation, it took numerous messages and weeks of follow-up to get responses.
There were ongoing issues with my ADHD medication refills, including incorrect dates and long delays. I went without my prescribed medication for an extended period, which caused significant difficulty managing my mental health. Even after providing all the necessary insurance and pharmacy information, I kept being told to “check again” instead of receiving the help I urgently needed. Dr. Sam also missed a scheduled video appointment without notice. By that point, I had already decided to find a new provider because I no longer felt safe or cared for under her management. I would not recommend Dr. Sam to anyone seeking consistent, compassionate, or reliable psychiatric care.

I am not the type to leave a review... but sadly I could not get in touch with this provider for 2 weeks. I had a gap in my medication due to them not responding to me. I had to find a new provider to get a refill. The time that I did spend with them was great and I felt cared for but sadly it felt very upsetting, and confusing and to be ignored. I understand providers are busy and I understand burnout. However I am struggling to understand how that could ever be appropriate. :(

CAUTION! This individuals does not respond in a reasonable time. They have made excuses on why... They were too busy with school and their life. Letitia placed me in a negative position due to lack of response. When I called them, they said, "I don't have time for this, I'm in a meeting". There were kids crying and screaming in the background. Be honest. I came to her for care as a patient, not her friend or family member to know her personal business. Be wary of her!

Um... She missed my first original appointment due to not having my correct phone number, or something? I kept repeatedly calling her office though 15 minutes after the supposed start time to ensure there was something I was supposed to do, and she picked up at around the fifth call, but by then it was far too late for anything. She offered to reschedule, and I gave her a time that I could do after I got off work, and she agreed to it. However, she didn't get in contact with me again.. Personal advice to those considering her, no offense to her of course, but if you're heavily mentally unwell such as myself, skip over this option. It only makes any personal panic worse, and it pushes out the soonest you can get medication refills (which I NEEDED.)

I was having severe anxiety prior to the appointment. I was experiencing difficulties connected through the link.
