Lev M. Khitin, M.D., F.A.C.S., a cardiovascular surgeon board certified in general, cardiac, and thoracic surgery, is the founder and president of the New York Vein Treatment Center. Dr. Khitin graduated from the Russian National Research Medical University named after N.I. Pirogov. He completed residencies in General Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, and Lahey Clinic, followed by a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. Recognized nationally and internationally for his achievements in the field of circulation, Dr. Khitin has pioneered the in-office management of vascular diseases with unprecedented results. Treatment modalities ranging from the most modern technologies of contemporary vascular medicine to the most traditional therapeutic methods are employed daily in the clinic.

I had an EVLT procedure done with Dr. Khitin. He is an excellent surgeon and my experience with him and the staff has been extremely professional from my initial visit to the post op visit. I had this procedure done with another doctor several years ago and my experience and the results with Dr Khitin are beyond compare. The heaviness and swelling is gone and I can finally walk again without pain. I am very grateful to have found Dr. Khitin and would recommend him to my friends and family.

I had only initial visit, still thinking if I should go for the procedure offered by the doctor. My first impression was good, but somehow affected by several negative remarks about him, which I have found on the web after the visit. Should I disregard those, and rely only on my own experience? Dr. Khikin took a lot of time to explain every possible procedure to me and made sure I understood pros and cons. He was definitely more resourceful than other doctors I had seen before. his technicians were also nice and very thorough.

The staff and doctor were all great. All the tests were done first so that when I saw the doctor, he had all of my information in front of him. He sat with me for close to 30 minutes and explained everything that was going on and what needed to happen. My only wish was that I knew ahead of time that my first appointment was going to take so long. I wouldn't have scheduled it on my lunch hour. This being said, I would definitely recommend him to anyone who asked.

Dr. Khitin and his employees were great. I saw Dr. Khitin Assistant first he made feel relax while he asked about my medical history. Manny who did my sonogram is a nice gentleman. This was the first time I did a sonogram that lasted an hour and he made sure I was ok during the examine. Dr. Khitin explained to my husband and I what was the real problem with my legs. Lets just say I was mis-diagnosis. I'm glad I went to him and I feel more at ease knowing whats wrong with me. Dr. Khitin made sure my Husband and I understood my condition and the procedure that needs to be done. I'm very happy I went to him and I found here on ZocDoc. I would definitely recommended Dr. Khitin. Dr. Khitin, his personal staff and the young lady that check me in at the front were great!!!

Very modern and up to date facility. Great and friendly staff and extremely knowledgable surgeon that shows GREAT bed side manners that you do not see very often these days. I would highly recommend Dr. Khitin to anyone with any type of vein problems.
