What should a new client know about working with you?

As your psychiatric nurse practitioner, I’m here to partner with you in understanding your mental health needs and support your journey towards wellness. This includes evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and supportive therapy. I specialize in mental health care and have the ability to prescribe medications while keeping an eye on how effective the treatment is. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices and is trauma-informed and collaborative. I believe in working closely with you—not just focusing on symptoms—and I truly value your input in making decisions about your care. In our first session, we’ll get to know each other better and discuss your history, symptoms, and goals. In our follow-up sessions, we’ll monitor how your treatment is progressing and make any necessary adjustments. When it comes to medications, I take a thoughtful and collaborative approach; I’ll explain your options, answer any questions, and together we’ll make informed decisions. Lastly, please know that everything we discuss is confidential, with a few exceptions for safety, such as if you are at risk of harming yourself or someone else. If you have urgent concerns during business hours, feel free to reach out to the clinic. For emergencies, please go to the ER or call 911. Remember, I’ve spent the past five years working in mental health because I’m truly passionate about helping people heal and regain control over their lives.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When I work with you as my client, I usually follow a structured clinical approach, tailored to your specific roles or preferences that you share with me. I am dedicated to creating a safe, nonjudgmental, and empathetic environment for you. My care will be based on continuously evaluating symptom progression, treatment effectiveness, and your overall functioning. Depending on your healthcare needs, I’ll adjust the treatment as necessary, which might include reassessing the diagnosis or trying out new interventions. As our slogan at Compassionate Mind Behavioral Health. We are committed to you reaching your mindful potential!
