"I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 14 years of nursing experience in the psychiatric field ranging from child and adult inpatient care to community mental health crisis stabilization and substance abuse treatment. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Colorado State University in Pueblo, Colorado. After graduation, I worked in various fields in nursing but eventually found my niche working for an inpatient psychiatric hospital. While working with inpatients, I saw the need for mental health, especially with the recent pandemic. So, I decided to further my career by attending the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, where I earned my degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a doctorate in population health with an emphasis in psychiatry. My focus is on treating schizophrenia, mood disorders, trauma, psychotic disorders, substance abuse, and chronic mental illness through psychiatric assessment, medication management, and brief psychotherapy for clients ages 6 to 85. I am also a certified Clozapine REM prescriber. I believe in creating an individualized plan of care that values client involvement, interprofessional collaboration, and evidence-based practice. My goal is to be supportive and non-judgmental and treat my clients with respect and dignity by empowering them through supportive education in a stigma-free environment. My clients should expect their initial encounter to include a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, determination of treatment goals, and education about diagnosis and available treatment options. I am available for consultations via Telehealth and in person. I am located in Pueblo. Please note, I will not be prescribing any controlled medications for anxiety, but I do prescribe other evidence-based medications to treat anxiety. Together, we can discuss medications tailored to your individual needs.
