Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Ready to be heard? As a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), I know that feeling unheard by the healthcare system is often part of what brings people to seek psychiatric care in the first place. My approach starts with listening — really listening — before we talk about treatment. I specialize in integrative psychiatry, with a particular focus on the gut-brain connection and how microbiome health, nutrition, and the body as a whole influence mental health. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, I look at the full picture: your history, your body, your lifestyle, and what's actually driving what you're experiencing. I hold a Master of Public Health (MPH) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), and I bring that combined clinical and public health lens to every patient relationship. My practice, Integrated Somatic Psychiatry, offers telehealth appointments so you can access thoughtful, individualized psychiatric care from wherever you are. If you're looking for a provider who takes the time to understand you, not just diagnose you, I'd be glad to work with you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you work with me, expect a collaborative, whole-person approach rather than a quick medication check. I take time during our first visit to understand your full history — not just your symptoms, but your sleep, diet, gut health, stress patterns, and lifestyle — because I believe mental health is deeply connected to physical health, especially the gut-brain axis. I'm not opposed to medication when it's the right tool, but I also draw on functional nutrition and microbiome science to look at root causes, not just symptom management. If you're looking for someone who will only prescribe and move on, this may not be the right fit. If you want a provider who digs deeper and treats you as a full person, I'd love to work with you. Sessions are conducted via telehealth, so you can meet with me from home. I aim to create a space where you feel genuinely heard and where treatment plans are built together, not handed down.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Initial visit (60 minutes): We start with a comprehensive intake — not just a symptom checklist, but a full picture of your mental health history, physical health, gut and digestive patterns, sleep, stress, and lifestyle. This longer visit gives us time to understand the whole person before recommending anything. Assessment and plan: Based on that intake, we build a treatment plan together. Depending on what's going on, this might include medication, nutritional and lifestyle adjustments, or both. I explain my reasoning at each step so you understand the "why," not just the "what." Follow-up visits (30 minutes): We meet regularly to track progress, adjust as needed, and address what's actually changing — not just refill prescriptions. I pay close attention to how gut health, diet, and daily habits are interacting with your mental health over time. Ongoing collaboration: Psychiatric care isn't static, and neither is my approach. As your needs evolve, we revisit and refine the plan together.
