What should a new client know about working with you?

PLEASE NOTE, I’M IN-NETWORK WITH CIGNA AND UNITED HEALTHCARE. I DO NOT ACCEPT MEDICARE OR MEDICAID. My therapeutic style is characterized by warmth, engagement, and a genuine personal connection. I believe in establishing a strong, collaborative relationship with each client, where we work together to make informed decisions about their treatment. My practice is inclusive and welcoming, embracing diversity in culture, background, and experience. I have worked with a wide range of clients, including students, parents, professionals from various fields, skilled tradespeople, service industry workers, retail employees, entrepreneurs, artists, and technology experts. I am committed to providing a safe and supportive space where each individual feels heard, understood, and empowered to achieve their therapeutic goals. I chose to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner because I am passionate about helping individuals improve their quality of life and emotional well-being. Throughout my nursing career, I saw how strongly mental health impacts every aspect of a person’s life, relationships, and physical health. I enjoy building meaningful connections with patients and helping them better understand themselves while providing compassionate, evidence-based care. I was drawn to psychiatry because it allows me to combine clinical knowledge, patient education, and therapeutic support to help people feel empowered, supported, and hopeful in their treatment journey. Starting treatment can be a scary and intimidating process, I’ve successfully treated many people who are new to psychiatric care.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Booking Process: Request your appointment time on Zocdoc. My office will email you an online intake form to ensure I’m able to help you. If we’re a fit, we’ll reach out to confirm an appointment time. I try my best to keep slots available each week for new clients. Your First Visit: The initial session is a comprehensive, one-hour evaluation which allows me to understand your current symptoms and difficulties, and learn about important aspects of your past psychiatric, medical, social, educational, and family histories. At the end of the session, we’ll determine the best treatment course. Session frequency ranges from weekly to monthly depending on the type of treatment you’re looking for. If you’re already seeing a therapist, I’m happy to collaborate with them while guiding the medication aspect of your treatment. However, many of my clients see me for both therapy and medication management. My practice, Lavender Psychiatry, is founded and fueled by board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioners who create therapeutic journeys that are kind, convenient and transparent so that people can flourish. We have a fantastic team that works together to ensure our clients are well taken care of. This includes our care concierge team who is available 7 days a week between your appointments, to help answer questions and assist with any issues regarding coverage and prescriptions etc. We also have covering providers in case I’m away and an urgent matter arises. I look forward to meeting you and helping you in your journey to a brighter future!
