Getting to know Lindsay Fisher

Lindsay is a caring mental health nurse who helps people feel better emotionally. She creates a safe place where you can talk openly about your problems. Lindsay treats many mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and eating disorders. She earned her Master's in Nursing from Mount St. Joseph University, which has equipped her with advanced knowledge and skills to support her clients effectively. Lindsay makes a personal plan for each client, using methods that have been proven to work. She keeps learning about new ways to help people with mental health. When she's not working, she enjoys time with family, traveling, and staying active in her community. Lindsay is ready to work with you to improve your mental health and help you deal with life's challenges.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My focus is psychiatric medication management delivered through a genuinely patient-centered approach that prioritizes your individual needs and experiences. I begin by truly listening—not just to your symptoms, but to how they affect your daily life, relationships, career aspirations, and overall sense of well-being. During your first visit, I gather comprehensive information about your mental health history, the challenges you're currently facing, past treatment experiences, full medical background, and what you genuinely hope to accomplish through our work together. I provide evidence-based care, meaning my recommendations are firmly grounded in current psychiatric research while being carefully tailored to your specific circumstances. You'll fully understand how each medication works, why I'm recommending it for you, what improvements to realistically expect, and which side effects to monitor. I start medications at appropriate initial doses, monitor progress through regular follow-up appointments, and adjust treatment based on both clinical observations and your personal feedback about how you're responding. I'm cautious about combining medications unless there's clear, compelling clinical justification, and I consistently consider practical factors like cost, insurance coverage, and dosing convenience that affect your daily life. Between scheduled appointments, I strongly encourage open communication about side effects or changes in your symptoms—I would much rather hear from you promptly than have you wait weeks feeling uncertain or uncomfortable. Whether you're seeking care for the first time or transitioning from another provider, I'll meet you where you are with patience and understanding. I respect your insight, lived experience, and autonomy while offering expert clinical guidance, with the ultimate goal of helping you achieve meaningful symptom relief and a significantly better quality of life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Each person who walks through my door brings a story all their own—and that's precisely where our work starts. Your initial appointment lasts roughly 60 minutes, devoted fully to understanding your experience. What are you struggling with? How long has it been going on? What approaches have you already tried? And in what ways is it shaping your everyday life, your relationships, and your sense of wellbeing? I'll also collect key details about your medical and psychiatric history, your family's mental health background, the medications you're taking, any substance use, and the broader life circumstances surrounding what you're facing. A sound diagnosis and effective treatment rest on seeing the whole picture, so I listen attentively and ask follow-up questions—never to pry, but to genuinely grasp what you're living through. Mental health symptoms can stem from many different sources, and pinpointing the right diagnosis is what guides us toward the most effective way forward. When it comes to medication options, I keep things clear and down to earth. I'll describe how a given medication works, what a realistic timeline for improvement looks like, which side effects show up most often, and how we'll keep an eye on your progress. Your preferences, concerns, and daily life all weigh meaningfully into the decisions we reach together—this is a truly shared process, not a prescription dictated from above. Ongoing medication management visits usually run 20 to 30 minutes and take place monthly once your treatment levels out. In these sessions we look at how you're responding, screen for side effects, discuss adherence and any obstacles in the way, and make whatever clinically sound adjustments help fine-tune your care. Open, collaborative treatment is the norm here—you're an active, valued partner in every choice we make. More than anything, I want you to feel heard, respected, and sincerely supported at every stage of your care.
