“I thought the forms needed to be filled out before seeing the doctor were impossible and extremely time-consuming. Very un- user friendly.
Even though the doctor seemed knowledgeable about my situation, she appeared to be somewhere else, and really did not want to be bothered, including the nurse!
Not a great bedside manner, considering I was struggling with a painful situation. Then I drove an hour to pick up the medicine at my pharmacy, only to find the prescription had not been called in yet. Not a great day!

About Dr. Liqiao Ma
Dr. Liqiao Ma is from Norman, Oklahoma. She attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and graduated with honors as a member of Junior Alpha Omega Alpha, awarded to the top 10% of her class.
Dr. Ma completed her internal medicine intern year at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. Her residency training in Dermatology was completed at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where she served as Chief Resident during her final year. During all three years of Dermatology residency, she received the Award for Cognitive Excellence that is given to residents who score more than 90 percentile in the national exams. The doctor did not examine me carefully. She just looked at me from where she was standing but that’s not the worse part. I still have not received my medication since the doctor needs to call the insurance to pre authorize it.
I called the office and asked to be prescribed a different medication that will be easier to get approved and that has worked perfectly on my skin in the past… still waiting on that too. Zero communication from their part. I just wasted my time going there. It’s as if I didn’t . I will be booking an appointment with a dermatologist in Austin. It will be worth the drive!

The visit was okay, but I felt rushed. When I grabbed my phone to check my notes and ask my questions, the doctor was already leaving the room. I barely had time to discuss anything beyond the main reason for my visit, even though I had a full list of concerns. She went into another room, and I didn’t see her again. They asked me to wait for her to finish with another patient, but my appointment didn’t feel complete. I didn’t want to wait for her to come back, so I left feeling frustrated and unheard.

Although my service was good from the Dr, the process of determining the cost of my screening was vague at best.
I was paying out of pocket and before going in, not a single person could tell me how much I would expect to pay.
There phone system links to a call center and requires several attempts to get someone on the phone to discuss insurance and self pay with no real clarity.
Transparent pricing is critical for people like myself who are self pay and do not have insurance.
