Dr. Lisa Macdonald, PsyD

Psychologist
12520 High Bluff Drive, Suite 100, San Diego, CA
Compassionate therapy for adults or teens ready to overcome anxious, compulsive behavior. Whether you are seeking relief from anxiety, obsessive thoughts, panic, or aiming to better manage compulsive urges, our collaborative efforts can help you develop a deeper understanding of anxiety and OCD-their origins and the factors that perpetuate the cycles of obsessions and compulsions in your life. You can gain a fresh perspective on the thoughts and behaviors that hold you captive, allowing you to regain control of your life, free from the constraints of OCD, anxiety, or BFRBs. As a provider of evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) treatments, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), inference-based CBT for OCD (iCBT), and the Comprehensive Behavioral Model (ComB) for BFRBs, I help my clients identify the underlying triggers of these behaviors and employ proven methods for reduction and control. I earned my PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and hold a Bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame. My clinical training includes an internship in Clinical Psychology at Loma Linda University Medical Center and a fellowship in Geropsychology with the Older Adult Mental Health Services at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital.
