Getting to know Lisa Weldon

Please note that patients need to be located in New Hampshire at the time of all appointments, whether telehealth or in person. Everyone in our office offers both telehealth and in-person appointments. We prefer that the first appointment be in person, but it is not required. I am not currently accepting any patients for treatment of ADD/ADHD. I enjoy working with patients who have more serious mental illness to help streamline and optimize their medication regimens. My background includes working with diverse populations, as well as two community mental health centers, so I am familiar with a wide variety of presentations of illness such as bipolar affective disorder (BPAD), schizophrenia, OCD, major depressive disorder (MDD), eating disorders, and PTSD. I work collaboratively with patients, giving them options that best meet their needs. I also specialize in helping patients with benzodiazepine dependence (Xanax, Klonopin, Ativan) safely and very slowly reduce their reliance on these medications. Please note, if this is a need, the patient's first appointment must be in person. I have a previous background in special education, working with high school students with learning disabilities. My education includes a Master's in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Yale University, a Master's in Nursing from the University of New Hampshire, an MEd in Special Education from Lesley University, and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas.

What should a new client know about working with you?

*Please note that patients need to be located in New Hampshire at time of appointments. Everyone in our office does both telehealth and in person appointments. We prefer that the first appointment be in person, but it is not required. If for any reason I am not your cup of tea, I have two colleagues who are wonderful providers, and bring their owns strengths to the table.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We do an evaluation together ( 60-90 minutes) and then will see each other for medication management appointments of 20-30 minutes, every 1-3 months or so. I see a limited number of people for therapy , mostly due to trouble fitting that into my schedule.
