Getting to know Lorinda Lo

I am a trilingual (English, Spanish, and Cantonese) Board-Certified Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in adult substance use disorders and mood disorders. I completed my education at the University of South Alabama and my psychiatry residency at Aventura Hospital & Medical Center, along with training in various local psychiatric settings. I have also worked with veterans at the VA, focusing on providing mental health care for homeless veterans. My clinical work centers on comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and brief psychotherapy for adults. I develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans designed to help patients stabilize symptoms, improve daily functioning, and achieve their personal health goals. Session Information (Self-Pay Rates) • Psychiatric Evaluation, Medication Management, Brief Psychotherapy: $350 (40 minutes) • Psychiatric Follow-Up, Medication Management, Brief Psychotherapy: $185 (20 minutes) These rates apply to self-pay patients. If you are using insurance, the cost of services will be determined by your insurance plan based on your specific benefits, copay, coinsurance, or deductible.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is collaborative and supportive, and I focus on creating a space where you feel comfortable talking openly without judgment. I aim to be both attentive and practical, balancing clinical care with genuine empathy. I incorporate medication management along with education and coping strategies to help you better understand your symptoms and feel more in control of your care. I want you to feel involved in the process, with clear communication and recommendations that make sense for you. My goal is to move at a pace that feels comfortable while supporting you in making meaningful progress toward feeling more stable and balanced.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When we begin working together, I start with a comprehensive evaluation to understand your history, current symptoms, and what you are hoping to improve. This helps me create a care plan that feels tailored to you and your needs. In follow-up visits, we will focus on how you are feeling, how medications are working, and any concerns or side effects you may have. I also incorporate supportive conversations and practical coping strategies to help you feel more stable and confident in your day-to-day life. My goal is to provide thoughtful, individualized care while supporting your long-term wellness and overall balance.
