Getting to know Lourdie Chachoute

I am a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) committed to compassionate, personalized, evidence-based care. I believe mental and physical health are inseparable, and my goal is to create a safe, judgment-free environment where every patient feels heard, respected, and empowered. With more than 15 years of experience across critical care, primary care, respiratory therapy, and psychiatry, I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and individualized treatment plans for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, mood disorders, insomnia, and other mental health concerns. My broad clinical background allows me to consider both emotional and physical health when building a plan. I also offer medical weight management, including consultation and ongoing follow-up for GLP-1 therapies such as semaglutide (Ozempic and Wegovy). Care begins with a full medical evaluation to determine whether treatment is appropriate, followed by regular visits to monitor progress, adjust dosing, manage side effects, and support lasting nutrition and lifestyle changes. I earned my BSN from the University of Central Florida, my MSN from South University, and my Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health from Walden University. I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Nursing Practice. I see patients in person in Orlando and via telehealth throughout Florida, Massachusetts, and Arizona. The best outcomes come from collaboration and open communication. I take time to listen, educate, and involve my patients in every treatment decision. Whether you are seeking help for the first time or continuing your health journey, my commitment is to compassionate, respectful, high-quality care that supports lasting wellness and an improved quality of life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I strive to create a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns. I understand that seeking care can feel overwhelming, and my goal is to ensure you feel heard, respected, and actively involved in every step of your treatment. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based. I take the time to understand your unique experiences, symptoms, and goals before developing a personalized treatment plan. Depending on your needs, treatment may include medication management, supportive therapy, education, and practical lifestyle strategies to improve your overall well-being. For patients seeking medical weight management, including GLP-1 therapies such as semaglutide (Ozempic and Wegovy), we begin with a full medical evaluation to determine whether treatment is appropriate for you. From there, we meet regularly to monitor your progress, adjust your dose, address any side effects, and support the nutrition and lifestyle changes that make results last. Your first visit is a thorough evaluation, so plan for extra time and come prepared to discuss your medical history, current medications, and what you are hoping to achieve. Follow-up visits are shorter and focused on how you are responding to treatment. I see patients in person at my Orlando office and by telehealth throughout Florida, Massachusetts, and Arizona. I believe the best outcomes come from working together. I encourage open communication, answer your questions, and make sure you understand your treatment options so you can make informed decisions about your care. My commitment is to provide high-quality, patient-centered care that supports your long-term health and helps you achieve your personal wellness goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe every patient deserves to be heard, understood, and treated with compassion. During your first visit, I conduct a comprehensive evaluation to understand your concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, lifestyle, and personal goals. We will discuss areas such as mood, anxiety, attention and concentration, sleep, stress, past treatments, current medications, and any other factors affecting your well-being. Using evidence-based guidelines, I work with you to develop an accurate diagnosis and an individualized treatment plan. Treatment may include medication management, supportive therapy, education, lifestyle recommendations, and referrals to psychotherapy or other specialists when appropriate. For medical weight management, the initial visit includes a review of your weight history, prior attempts, current medications, and relevant medical conditions, along with baseline labs and vital signs to determine whether GLP-1 therapy such as semaglutide is appropriate and safe for you. If we move forward, we start at a low dose and titrate gradually. Follow-up visits track your weight, blood pressure, labs, side effects, and nutrition and activity habits, adjusting the plan as you go. Follow-up appointments focus on monitoring your progress, evaluating how well treatment is working, addressing concerns or side effects, and making adjustments as needed. I believe in a collaborative approach, and with your permission, I coordinate with your primary care provider, therapist, or other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care. My goal is to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where you feel comfortable discussing your concerns and empowered to achieve better health and overall well-being.

The provider never showed up to my appointment. I’ve surmised that this issue happens somewhat frequently with providers connected to Orenda Psychiatry, as Lourdie is. I recommend looking up Orenda Psychiatry on Yelp before deciding to make a booking.
