Getting to know Lovester Duncan

About Me I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice and Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (DNP, PMHNP-BC) with over 12 years of experience in mental health care, including more than 4 years as a practicing psychiatric nurse practitioner. My clinical background combines hands-on nursing expertise with advanced skills in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment, allowing me to provide holistic, patient-centered care that addresses both emotional and medical needs. I am deeply committed to delivering high-quality, accessible mental health services through telehealth. My approach focuses on building strong therapeutic relationships, reducing stigma, and empowering clients to take an active role in their journey toward mental wellness. What to Expect in Your First Session During your initial psychiatric evaluation, I will take the time to get to know you, understand your concerns, and develop a personalized treatment plan. We will discuss your symptoms, mental health history, lifestyle, and overall well-being. I will explain confidentiality, answer your questions, and outline potential treatment options, including therapy and/or medication. By the end of the session, you will have a clearer understanding of your mental health, treatment goals, and next steps. My goal is to ensure you feel heard, respected, and supported as we begin your journey toward healing. My Strengths as a Provider My greatest strengths are empathy, a patient-centered approach, and a commitment to continuous learning. I prioritize active listening to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients feel truly heard and understood. I collaborate with each individual to develop treatment plans tailored to their unique needs and goals. By staying current with the latest research, I provide compassionate, effective care for complex mental health concerns.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
