About Dr. Lubomira Scherschun
Dr. Scherschun is a Board Certified Dermatologist and specializes in medical and general adult dermatology.
Dr. Scherschun grew up in Detroit, Michigan. She completed her undergraduate studies at Wayne State University with a B.S. in Biology. She remained at Wayne State University for her medical school training. While in medical school she received the Janet Glasgow Award for the best 4 year medical school academic performance.
Upon obtaining her medical degree, Dr. Scherschun spent her Internal Medicine internship year at Beaumont Hospital in Michigan followed by her residency training in Dermatology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Following residency, Dr. Scherschun was recruited to join the full-time academic faculty at Henry Ford Hospital. Since 2007, Dr. Scherschun relocated to Santa Monica and provided the highest dermatologic care to the beach communities around the South Bay, Whittier and Santa Monica.
Dr. Scherschun continues to be an active Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.

I never write reviews, but I felt I had to warn people here. I came to this office because I had a growth I wanted checked out. The doctor I saw (someone under the supervision of the doctor I was scheduled to see) decided to cut it off and biopsy it - but didn't say anything about the extra cost. This doctor also tried to cut off and biopsy a mole that I knew was fine - it's been irregular since I was a kid and every doctor I've ever seen said it was fine - and when I objected she pressured me, but I still said no. It made me pretty uncomfortable. When I got the bill from the lab (which they said nothing about) after having to pay out of pocket for the biopsy to the office, I was stunned at the cost. I do understand that healthcare sucks, but they were not communicative at all about the situation I may find myself in, nor did they make sure I was okay with the possibilities before taking action. It felt like a money-making operation just cuts cuts cuts and slaps unsuspecting people with costs after it's too late. Do not recommend.

I am very pleased to be a patient of Dr. Scherschun. She is kind, a great listener, has a caring manner, is patient, and is very clear in providing treatment solutions. The staff were friendly and the office followed safety protocols. I am very happy with the results of my visit. In fact, the treatment she recommended is already working!! I highly recommend this doctor -- she was terrific!

They cancelled my appointment 2 hours before via a text. My appt was at 9 and they texted around 730. Someone called later to reschedule and I told them I already made an appt elsewhere because I needed to see a doctor asap, and they didn't even apologize or let me know why they cancelled which I felt was super rude.

My daughter saw the doctor for skin concerns and she was so nice to her. She was really clear on what to do next but her approach was encouraging and kind.
