About Dr. Lucas Gellis
Dr. Luke delivers high-quality chiropractic care to area families wishing to eliminate their pain and optimize their wellness potential. At Total Balance Chiropractic we welcome everyone from weekend warriors and elite athletes to moms-to-be and children. We emphasize a multidisciplinary approach to wellness, including the best in pediatric chiropractic and the renowned Active Release Techniques® (ART®).
Dr. Luke received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.
While still a student in clinic, he encountered a patient who had severe neck and upper back pain. He couldn’t carry out even simple acts of daily living. “This man had already seen three other chiropractors, and nothing was helping.
As a student, I felt a little intimidated, but I gave it my all. I began to adjust him and added in specific exercises (The McKenzie Method) for him to practice at home. By the third visit, the man came in for his appointment happy and excited; the pain was going away! This experience made me realize that chiropractic has so much to offer because of the diversity of cutting-edge adjustment styles.”
Following his graduation from Palmer College, Dr. Luke jumped in with both feet and spent a month at a solo chiropractic clinic in Peru. “I was inundated with patients for the entire time I was there. It was fascinating and refreshing to work with a culture that takes a completely holistic approach to health care. I felt very grateful for the experience.”

Dr. Luke has truly made such a difference in my life, especially with my migraines. He uses a variety of treatment modalities tailored to what your body needs, but his adjustments and dry needling have helped me the most. I’ve noticed a huge reduction in both the frequency and intensity of my headaches.
He’s also helped me with so much more than just migraines. Since I have a very physical job, he keeps my body feeling aligned and functioning at its best, and he’s been incredibly supportive with my gym recovery as well. I overall just feel better, stronger, and more balanced since starting care with him.
On top of that, the entire staff is so friendly and welcoming, and the massage therapists are amazing. You genuinely feel cared for every time you walk in. Highly recommend!

Dr. Luke was absolutely wonderful! He was patient, kind and informative. I felt heard and cared for, and left feeling much better. Cupping was a great recommendation that offered a lot of relief. Highly recommend!

Dr. Luke has been practicing for 9 years and is very knowledgeable. He has many tools in his toolbox. ART, Dry Needling, McKenzie, Laser, Shockwave, and chiropractic. He doesn't sell a ton of visits and helps you achieve your goals of care quickly.

A visit to Total Balance Chiropractic always brightens my day! Walking through the door, I am warmly greeted and offered a massage chair or a light warm up on the stretching table. Dr Luke is prompt and listens to my concerns. He addresses my issues and I always feel so much better. The relief is noticeable! I highly recommend a massage as well. Each time I have had an outstanding experience. You deserve a visit at Total Balance!
