Luciana Thompson, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a dedicated psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over 20 years of professional experience. She proudly serves as the clinical director at Compass Mental Health and Wellness.
Luciana earned a nursing diploma from JFK/Muhlenberg Regional School of Nursing in Plainfield, New Jersey, and an associate degree in nursing from Union County College in Cranford, New Jersey. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia, before completing her Master of Science in Nursing at Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
As the clinical director of Compass Mental Health and Wellness, Luciana is responsible for implementing and evaluating operations related to patient care, monitoring patient responses to treatments, and documenting patients' medical and psychological histories.
Luciana is experienced in diagnosing various psychiatric disorders, mental health conditions, and medical conditions. She analyzes patient data to determine treatment goals and collaborates with team members to develop informed, personalized care plans for all of her patients.
A proud veteran of the US Navy, Luciana is honored to assist other veterans in overcoming their mental health challenges. In her free time, she volunteers with local organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club of America and the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS).

It was my first visit and it was great. I got to know the details of the medications that will be prescribed and Dr. Thompson is a great listener as well. The only thing I wish can be improved is the administration stuff. We missed the initial appointment time so we had to do it over the phone.

This office is horrible.
They rescheduled me twice
When I finally had my appointment I the doctor everything about me and my diagnosis and what meds I took and the prescription numbers and it took them a whole week and a half to order my meds and I called constantly begging them to. And they called me overdramatic because I needed my medication for my bipolar. Awful people!

Mrs Thompson was extremely polite and pleasure to talk with. I was very hesitant prior to our appointment but once we got started she made it very easy to talk about what was going on. I waited for around 2 hours past our appointment time for her to see me, but I'm glad I did wait. She was very forthcoming with her reasons and thoughts, unlike most I've seen that just speak jargon and don't care what you think. Other doctors I've seen made me feel they were just seeing patients for a paycheck, Mrs Thompson seemed to genuinely care.
