About Luis Valdes Castillo
Luis Valdes Castillo, FNP-C, was born and raised in Pinar del Río, Cuba. He attended the Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Pinar del Río, where he graduated as a medical doctor in 2009. After moving to the United States in 2012, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Sacred Heart University in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and a Master of Science in Nursing from South University in Savannah, Georgia, where he graduated with high honors.
Luis is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and is licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the Texas Board of Nursing. He is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy of HIV Medicine.

There was an emphasis on determining the single biggest reason for my appointment, which seemed to be different for each nurse I met and caused confusion since I was there for a general checkup/physical. I was never asked if I had any questions (I had a list of questions), the NP looked in my ears and eyes and listened to my heart and then I was sent for bloodwork and urinalysis and dismissed. In the end, the entire appointment I had waited weeks for came down to simply blood work. I guess I am supposed to book countless additional visits for each medical question I had?

I had a very positive experience when visiting with Luis Valdes Castillo, NP, NP-C. He was very friendly and listened to me when I spoke. I have bad anxiety and the way he carried himself made me feel less stressed. He is now my PCP, which I've never had before. He explained the tests that I was going to take and gave me proper instruction.

This was my fourth visit to the office, and each visit has been consistently high quality. The office is clean and calming. The support staff is friendly, and the medical staff are first class. Luis Valdes has a multidisciplinary background and skills, making him highly knowledgeable, but also very personable and concerned about patients. I highly recommend.
