About Dr. Luz Colon
Dr. Luz Colon received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico. During her time in Puerto Rico, she met a podiatrist and saw the happiness from the patients as soon as their needs were met and resolved. It was then that she decided to pursue podiatry, knowing that this career would give her the tools to help others. She then attended the School of Podiatric Medicine at Barry University, where she received her Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine in 1998.
Dr. Luz Colon was trained in surgery at the Palmetto General Hospital Residency program, and at the same time had the opportunity to work with the Yucatan Crippled Children Project in Mexico. She also had the opportunity to complete her fellowship at Haddassah Hospital in Jerusalem, Israel.
Dr. Luz Colon treats several foot and ankle conditions such as bunions, hammertoes, ankle sprains, and Achilles tendinitis. She also specializes in foot and ankle dislocation treatment, fracture treatment, ligament and tendon repair, as well as nail avulsion and excision.
