Dr. Cruz earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences at the University of South Florida and pursued her Doctor of Optometry degree at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Dr. Cruz completed an externship at Lake Baldwin VA Medical Center in Orlando FL, where she concentrated her work on managing eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy. Throughout her career, Dr. Cruz completed additional externships that enabled her to gain valuable skills in pre- and post-operative management of cataract surgery, pediatric care, and contact lenses. Dr. Cruz proceeded to complete her residency training at the Orlando VA Medical Center in primary care with an emphasis on Ocular Disease. This training allowed her to treat patients with traumatic brain injuries, low vision, and fit specialty contact lenses; including scleral lenses. Dr. Cruz can provide eye care services in English and Spanish. Dr. Cruz is a member of the American Optometric Association and the American Academy of Optometry. In her spare time, Dr. Cruz enjoys reading, spending time with family, and discovering new places to eat.
