What should a new client know about working with you?

My practice is dedicated entirely to psychiatric medication management, and I bring sincere compassion and clinical precision to that work every day. I believe the right medication, chosen carefully and monitored consistently, can be genuinely life-changing — and that conviction shapes everything about how I practice. When we begin working together, your initial evaluation will be comprehensive. We will cover your current mental health symptoms, medical background, previous treatments and how you responded to them, family psychiatric history, present stressors, and the specific ways your symptoms are affecting your daily functioning. I take this foundational step seriously, because a clear and thorough understanding of what we are addressing is essential before any medication is ever recommended. Once that picture is in place, I walk you through your treatment options with full transparency. I review the evidence behind different medications, set honest expectations for how and when improvement typically unfolds, and discuss potential side effects openly. My goal is for you to understand the reasoning behind every recommendation before any decision is finalized — not after. My prescribing philosophy favors medications with demonstrated effectiveness, appropriate starting doses, and careful ongoing adjustments based on how you respond and what you tolerate. I am deliberate about combining medications, doing so only when there is clear clinical justification, and I regularly reassess whether each medication is still providing meaningful benefit. Between visits, please do not hesitate to reach out when something comes up. I would far rather address a concern promptly than have you wait and struggle. Your comfort and safety always come first. I approach medication management as a continuous, evolving process — one built on honest communication, regular reassessment, and a genuine willingness to change course when the situation calls for it.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach centers on getting to know you as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms. During our first session, we'll discuss what brings you in, your mental health history, current challenges, and your goals for treatment. I'll ask about your medical background, medications you've tried, lifestyle factors like sleep, nutrition, exercise, and stress management, as well as what matters most to you in your care. This comprehensive assessment helps me understand your unique situation — including your strengths, support systems, and any barriers you may be facing — so we can develop a truly personalized treatment plan. For ongoing medication management appointments, we typically meet for 30 minutes. We'll review how you've been feeling since our last visit, discuss medication effects — both positive and challenging — and assess whether adjustments are needed. I'll ask about your symptom progression, daily functioning, and overall wellbeing. I encourage you to share openly; your honest feedback is what helps us find what works best for you. No detail is too small to mention. I believe in collaborative care, which means we make decisions together as partners in your treatment. I'll explain medication options in straightforward terms, discuss potential benefits and side effects honestly, and respect your preferences and concerns. If you're hesitant about something, we'll explore why and find alternatives that feel right for you. My practice also emphasizes coordinating with your therapist, primary care doctor, and other providers to ensure continuity of care. Between appointments, my staff and I are available for questions or urgent needs. We understand that concerns don't always arise during scheduled visits, and we're here to provide support when you need it. My goal is to offer consistent, compassionate care as we work toward your mental wellness. Treatment isn't just about prescribing — it's about partnering with you every step of the way.

My wife tried to make an appointment with this provider for me while I was having a mental health crisis. They were not very accommodating and the schedule on Zoc Doc wasn't even up to date.

She’s amazing!
She is amazing ??
Professional, caring, accomodating, and provides personalized insights to my life that are genuinely beneficial and applicable every single day. So thankful for my practitioner!!
While her bedside manner was good, what wasn’t good was the fact that I did the intake paperwork many days prior to the visit and I stated in the paperwork that I take Lithium. When I had my visit, she had me go through my whole history, which was full of traumatic events for me, only to tell me they don’t take patients who take lithium. She should have looked at my paperwork and confirmed this from the outset, before asking questions about my history and saved me needless stress of retelling my trauma.
Booked my appointment two days ago and in 48 hours I had 7 missed calls (all around 8am), six emails, and four text messages, all asking me to fill out pre-appointment paperwork. Except I had filled it out, when I made the appointment. I left the credit card form blank, as I had not even seen the provider yet - why would I give someone credit card info when: a. I have no copay and 100% coverage - no deductible, and b. I haven't even met the provider yet? So I get the meeting link sent to me and go online to wait. She never showed. 40 minutes later I get a call from the office stating they CANCELED MY APPOINTMENT. Without telling me. Because I didn't fill out the credit card info. 90% of the reason I am seeking a new provider is due to bad office management, and, well, here I am again.

she was very professional
Maggie is great! She takes her time to help me through my struggles and offers great feedback. I never feel rushed and feel like I have the time I need during my session. I'm grateful that she is my provider.
She is warm and sweet. Extremely easy to talk too. Understanding and you can tell she loves what she does. Makes sharing easier rather than other professionals I’ve seen who see you as a paycheck. Always answers questions I might have and she also gives great insight. So happy I’m in great hands. Recommend her 1000/100!

I had an amazing experience with Maddie Asghari. She was extremely helpful in both listening to my mental health concerns and prescribing medications that improved my overall wellbeing. Asghari is wonderful at communicating with patients and meeting their needs. I would highly recommend this practitioner to all individuals seeking psychiatric help.
Maddie is incredibly easy to speak to and someone to feel comfortable being honest with. Because of that she is able to make formed recommendations that truly benefit what you are going through. After a few conversations and a couple different medications we found the right medication and dosage that has allowed me to really manage the burdens of my depression and anxiety to a point where they do not paralyze me or control my day to day. I have not felt this clear or in control in a very long time. We do regular check-ins to make sure things are still going as planned and if changes ever did need to be made I trust Maddie’s opinion and direction. She has helped me in an area of my life I kept very private and had trouble communicating to the closest people in my life but now that I have more confidence about how I am working on things I can be more open about it which also helps control it. Thanks for your help Maddie!
