Being a healthcare provider is a very rewarding profession because it allows me to make a difference in the lives of my patients and their families. I am passionate about meeting new people and understanding how I can contribute to the improvement of their health and well-being. I genuinely enjoy educating my patients and empowering them to achieve their health goals.
The primary role of the primary care provider is to be a patient advocate and provide the best care to the patient. Building a therapeutic alliance with the patient is vital in the provider-patient relationship as the patient and provider work together to achieve the treatment goals. In working with patients, it is very important to listen to what the patient needs because, many times, the provider's goal and the patient's goals are not the same. In providing patient-centered care, listening to the patient's needs and goals are fundamental to promoting patient compliance.
I earned my Master's in Nursing from Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science and am currently completing my post-master's degree in psychiatric mental health. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, listening to music, and doing yoga.
