Getting to know Mag Ayorinde

Hello, and welcome. I’m Dr. Mag Ayorinde, a board-certified psychiatric and mental health Nurse Practitioner. I provide comprehensive mental health services to individuals and families - with specialized training in both Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and General Adult Psychiatry. I have extensive experience treating conditions such as ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD, and schizophrenia. My clinical experience spans diverse populations, caring for patients of all ages, races, and cultural backgrounds. From kids to seniors, from every culture and community—I’m here to help. I care deeply about supporting individuals who feel overwhelmed, discouraged, or misunderstood in their mental health journey. Many of my patients come to me with acute and complex psychiatric conditions, making them feel stuck and unheard. My role is to bring fresh insight, compassionate listening, and a tailored plan that aligns with your goals—not a one-size-fits-all model. I graduated from Walden University with a master's degree in adult psychiatric and mental health nursing. Before becoming a mental health provider, I worked as a registered nurse for over 20 years, giving me a unique clinical foundation that enhances my psychiatric diagnostic accuracy, empathy, and ability to connect with patients. I founded my practice, AVAKI Health, to support those feeling stuck, unheard, and challenged by mental health issues – if you’re experiencing these symptoms, I’d be honored to support you on your path to wellness.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When meeting with me, we will partner on the journey to improved health and setting a clear path to addressing your symptoms. Based on your wellness goals, I focus on developing a treatment plan that integrates patient education, medication management, and therapeutic interventions. I strive to create a non-judgmental space where patients feel heard, understood, and supported—while also providing effective and thoughtful treatment that leads to meaningful symptom relief.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

For our first meeting, we’ll discuss your current symptoms and the different factors that may be causing your symptoms. This will include exploring your recent medical history, family and social dynamics, and your current symptoms. This holistic review of your current experience and background will inform my clinical review and diagnosis. Based on that diagnose, I’ll present my clinical recommendation for a treatment plan. With your feedback, we’ll adjust that treatment plan as necessary. At the end of our session, you should have a clear understanding of your diagnosis if you were given one, and you should know how to go about beginning your treatment and what results are expected to come from that. We’ll remain in close contact via text, email, and scheduled appointments, ensuring that you feel seen, heard, and understood throughout our time working together.
