“Dr. Goertz was absolutely wonderful! I’ve had trouble with doctors in the past being dismissive, or even condescending when I’m expressing a concern (I might be a bit of a hypochondriac but you can never be too careful!)- but Dr. Goertz listened to all my concerns and totally reassured me without making me feel silly. She even offered to order extra testing if it would help give me more peace of mind. She didn’t seem bored or like she was in a rush. She was very present and helpful and explained everything very well!! The front staff was also extremely kind and helpful. A wonderful experience all around!”

About Makayla Goertz
MaKayla is a board-certified physician assistant passionate about providing high-quality, long-term care to her patients. She earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Hardin-Simmons University after completing her bachelor’s degree in Finance at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas. Before PA school, she worked in OBGYN as a medical assistant, where she developed a deep appreciation for patient-centered care.
She chose Thrive Medical to be part of a dynamic and supportive practice, helping patients of all backgrounds achieve their health and wellness goals.
Outside the office, MaKayla is always on the move—whether she’s paddleboarding on Town Lake, wake surfing at Lake LBJ, or lifting weights. A native of the outskirts of the greater Austin area, she is excited to give back to the community that shaped her, providing compassionate care to help Austinites thrive.
