What should a new client know about working with you?

Patients can expect a calm, supportive, and nonjudgmental experience. Maranda values open communication and understands that every person’s mental health journey is different. You are encouraged to share what is important to you, ask questions, and participate in decisions about your care. Her style is collaborative and patient-centered. She listens carefully to understand your experiences, concerns, goals, and preferences before making recommendations. Treatment may include medication management, education about your condition, practical coping strategies, lifestyle support, and referrals for therapy or other services when appropriate. Maranda believes medication is one possible tool—not the only answer. If medication is recommended, she will discuss why it may help, what to expect, potential side effects, and how progress will be monitored. The treatment plan can be adjusted over time based on your response and goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first visit is typically a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. Maranda will discuss your current concerns, symptoms, mental health history, medical history, prior treatments, medications, sleep, stressors, substance use, and goals for care. She will also review safety concerns and any factors that may affect your treatment plan. Together, you will develop an individualized plan that may include medication management, symptom monitoring, education, coping strategies, and therapy or community-resource referrals when appropriate. If medication is started or adjusted, Maranda will explain the purpose of the medication, possible benefits, potential side effects, and follow-up expectations. Follow-up visits focus on your progress, medication response, side effects, daily functioning, and any new concerns. Treatment is adjusted collaboratively as needed. The goal is consistent, thoughtful care that supports symptom improvement and long-term mental wellness.
