To honor you and your lived experience, I get to know you, and engage with you conversationally to get a feel for how best I can support you in your particular phase of healing. I am also cognizant that support might look different at various phases of therapy. I draw upon the clinical education and training that I have received; but most importantly, I utilize my intuition and my learning and witnessing of you to guide me. This connection building leads to a more intimate experience. It is my intention that you feel more integrated, authentic, and whole. My style is compassionate, calm, collaborative, and genuine. In session, I offer an interactive style based on trust and respect so that you don’t feel alone in your experience and that you feel safe to embody whatever arises within you. I received rigorous training in the following disciplines that I draw upon: depth psychology; psychodynamic psychology; somatic therapy; trauma-informed therapy (EMDR); addiction medicine and recovery; CBT; modern attachment theory; mindfulness; art therapy, meditation; executive coaching; and, yoga. I specialize in codependency and life transitions, which can lead to anxiety, depression, relational distress, and chronic health conditions. Prior to receiving my LMFT #129593, I pursued international development and community health sciences conducting research and working throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. In addition, I worked in the health and wellness industry ranging from nutrition and health coaching to yoga instruction. My life’s work is dedicated to wellbeing and I look forward to exploring your inner world together.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I take a holistic approach to healing, primarily working with young adults. I integrate the physical body, emotions, nervous system, mind, and spirt. I draw upon the clinical orientations that I am trained in, in addition to my lived experiences where I received most of my training. I received my dual master’s degree from UCLA in Public Health and African Studies and then returned to my love for psychology ten years later, receiving my Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. I began my clinical experience at The Maple Counseling Center in Beverly Hills, seeing adults with depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. After nearly two years, I worked for Kaiser Permanente’s Addiction Medicine and Recovery Services (AMRS) program in San Francisco, focusing on adults and adolescents with substance use and co-occurring disorders. There I provided out-patient care, case management, and therapeutic groups on substance use, mindfulness, and family systems. In 2020, I started my private practice and worked for two treatment centers. At Clear Mind Treatment, I applied psychotherapeutic and family system theories and techniques in the delivery of services to individuals and groups for the purpose of treating diagnosed substance use and psychiatric disorders. The practice combined three neuromodulation therapies, Ketamine, TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation), and Neurofeedback, with traditional Mental Health IOP/PHP. At Serenity Trauma Treatment Center, I taught restorative yoga and provided trauma-informed psychotherapy including EMDR and Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM). Currently, I primarily see my clients through my private practice.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Whether you are looking for support in personal development, attachment repair, trauma healing, or symptom reduction, such as anxiety and/or depression, it is my honor to guide you on your path of personal embodiment and empowerment. In our first session together we will take a deep dive into your goals and any associated experiences that have led you to where you are now. Before our first session, the intake assessment, you will complete all of the necessary paperwork on my portal. From there, you will complete a questionnaire so that I have a sense of your background and reasons for seeking therapy. After that, we will book weekly sessions for a minimum of 6 weeks. From there, we will assess to see if bi-weekly sessions are appropriate. Treatment lasts for a minimum of 8 weeks; however, clients often stay with me for longer, to explore other areas of their life once symptoms have been reduced. Finding the right “match” can feel overwhelming and equally important to the therapeutic alliance. I am committed to maintaining an inclusive practice to ensure clients feel safe, heard, and as an equal partner in the therapeutic process. With a background in meditation and yoga, I integrate both insight-oriented and skills-based approaches to include the mind, body, and soul. I work with clients to explore the root barriers, to gain new awareness into emotional and relational patterns. At the same time, I focus on practical strategies, with an emphasis on relaxation and meditation practices, to help clients integrate their felt experience.
