“Dr. Tellez is the best doctor I have ever encountered and the entire practice is so warm, welcoming, and attentive. I have a whole host of chronic health conditions and went to multiple doctors who brushed off my symptoms before. In the very first appointment with Dr. Tellez, they listened, took my symptoms seriously and immediately set me up with tests that I needed without question. After 10 years of trying to find a diagnosis with other providers, I got answers after my first appointment here. Having a doctor that is also in the LGBTQ+ community is so refreshing. I’ve never felt more safe and seen. Dr. Tellez is so kind and calm and zen. A+ bedside manner, A+ nurses and PAs, A+ care. Note that there is a yearly fee to be a regular patient here.
Also, not “important” per se, but I have to give a shoutout to Dr. Tellez’s style and creative talent?! Never in my life have I seen such a stylish doctor or person. Like…come here for great care AND new fashion inspo and pottery.”

About Dr. Marcus Tellez
Dr. Marcus Tellez is Board Certified Family Medicine physician. He completed his residency through the University of Central Florida and graduated as Chief Resident. Born and raised in Florida, Dr. Tellez received a degree in Religious Studies at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL and completed his medical school training at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Throughout his residency, Dr. Tellez focused on increasing LGBT+ health awareness amongst his colleagues and received an award for “Excellence in Teaching”. He volunteered his time helping medical students at the local LGBT clinic, presented an LGBT+ health lecture at the annual Florida Academy of Family Physicians conference, and collaborated with the local Pride Center to provide educational lectures to the public. These experiences of professional development, continued education, and public interaction have positively shaped his career.
Dr. Tellez is equipped with a unique, multicultural perspective and a passion for patient-centered care. With the rigorous training and clinical knowledge that he gained through medical school and experience in residency, he will make critical strides toward transforming a passion for LGBT+ health and HIV medicine into a fulfilling career at Pacific Oaks Medical Group.

The office visit was a bit frustrating at first. I showed up 15 minutes prior to my appointment time but the door was locked. I knocked lightly to no avail. I called the office number and it went straight to voicemail. I was told to come 15 minutes early as a new patient. I waited anxiously until it got much closer to my appointment time at which I decided to try one last time knocking a bit harder this time. The door was opened and I was with some attitude for my knocking. There was apparently an impromptu staff meeting right up until my appointment started. The timing overlap and no communication to me made for an unwelcoming situation as a first patient.
I went through with it as I wanted to give the rest of the staff a chance. I am glad I did because I thoroughly enjoyed the care I received here. I don't remember the names of everyone I saw but they were all very helpful and considerate. Dr. Tellez was very patient and heard me on all I had to say. Glad to be going here.

I was given a prescription that I was never asked where to send it to so when I realized this it took another day to get a hold of the office.I finally got the prescription sent for a cream and some pills but they only wrote out for the cream.Apparently they don't answer the phone and you have to only leave messages

The service here is laughable at best and extremely harmful and archaic to patients at worst.
From egregious administrative charges to “no-show” errors due to receptionist mistakes, your time would be better spent elsewhere.
The front office staff is incompetent and can not agree on what they need to provide patient care. When you enter the office early, before an appointment, they argue back and forth with each other and then begrudgingly speak to you. Then, they announce there were difficulties regarding “paperwork” that had been clearly filled out. To top it off, they reschedule appointments without confirming or notifying patients to ensure they can overbill your insurance.
Pacific Oaks Medical Group should be ashamed of themselves and the “care” they are providing.
Save yourself time and headaches by going to a provider who does not want to nickel and dime you and truly champions your well-being, not just part of it.

The office charges a “concierge fee” which is several hundred dollars and told me about it when I arrived. Was totally caught off guard and absolutely cannot afford that. And in addition to my high copay, I had to pay to park valet.

I’ve been going to Pacific Oaks Medical Group for almost 30years. It is simply the best health care center I’ve ever experienced in my 74years. And Dr Tellez is just the best. After Dr Scarsella passed away a couple of years ago, the front office paired me with Dr Tellez. I’ve continued to improve all my health makers. Pacific Oaks saved my life after I first joined Pacific Oaks, and their stellar Medical practice, staff, and Dr Tellez have continued to keep me in the saddle to the present day!

I really enjoyed my time with Dr. Tellez. However, the office staff is the reason I will NEVER return. My appointment couldn't be found at the beginning. My time with the doctor was by far among the best experience I have ever had. When it comes to following up on simple request for medical records - I am STILL waiting 3mths later. Overall Dr. Tellez was the best, but the office that supports him is trash.

I recently moved here from and was a bit nervous about getting a new Dr. since I've only had two for my entire life. Dr. Tellez and his staff are amazing. You can tell that everyone cares about the patient's well being and they all go the extra mile. The staff was extremely helpful in getting all of my medical records moved over and Dr. Tellez has made my transition to LA much less stressful. The office is super clean and each appointment is right on time. If only finding a dentist were so easy!
