About Dr. Margaret Chen

Margaret Chen, MD, FACS, is Chief of Breast Surgery. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine and completed a fellowship at McGill University. Dr. Chen has mentored over 90 fellows, residents, and students; helped design and implement educational curriculums to train doctors; and served as Chair of Scientific and Continuing Education at the American College of Surgeons Brooklyn and Long Island. She is also advancing the SAVI SCOUT radar localization technique, hidden scar lumpectomies, and nipple- and skin-sparing mastectomies.

Found dr. Chen on Zocdoc by chance and I’m already nervous about having to do my procedure because who wouldn’t be scared when u hear you need to have non cosmetic surgery on your breast. Went in today and met her for the first time and instantly felt comfortable and relieved. She explained everything clearly with drawings might I add. So fantastic. I even told my pcp to recommend her other pts to Dr. Chen if they ever needed a breast surgeon. Also, with her qualifications I read on Zocdoc, you will definitely be making a good decision to have her as your doctor. I know this seems a bit rush to feel that way considering I haven’t had my surgery yet. But, when u meet a doctor for the first time, you can already tell how you will be treated by them in the future solely based on how that first meeting goes
