“Dr. Margaret Yorio has reassured me that there are still doctors out there that genuinely care about you as a person. Many times you speak with professionals and it feels robotic but Dr. Yorio truly cares. I have been struggling with postpartum on and off with both my pregnancies and she has really helped me feel validated with how I have been feeling and what I have been struggling with. She seems highly educated and you can just tell she is constantly doing research as well as learning more about her field to better help me and others who may seek guidance. I am beyond happy I found her and I would encourage anyone looking for someone to help them to reach out to Dr. Yorio. ”

Getting to know Margaret (Maggie) Yorio

I am a Doctorate prepared board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing thoughtful, collaborative, and evidence-based mental health care for adults. My approach is warm, grounded, and nonjudgmental, with an emphasis on understanding the whole person rather than simply treating symptoms. I work with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, sleep difficulties, trauma-related symptoms, burnout, and challenges with focus, motivation, or emotional regulation. I also have advanced training in treatment-resistant depression, integrative psychiatry, and women's mental health including pregnancy and postpartum. When appropriate, I incorporate medication management, lifestyle interventions, lab evaluation, and integrative approaches into personalized treatment plans. My goal is to help clients feel heard, informed, and empowered while building a path toward lasting mental wellness.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I view mental health care as a partnership. You can expect me to listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and take the time to understand your unique experiences and goals. I believe the best outcomes happen when treatment decisions are made collaboratively, and I prioritize helping clients understand their options rather than simply telling them what to do. My style is supportive, direct, and practical. While medication can be an important tool, I also explore factors such as sleep, stress, nutrition, hormones, relationships, and overall health that may be contributing to symptoms. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, understood, and actively involved in your care.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first appointment focuses on developing a thorough understanding of your concerns, mental health history, medical history, lifestyle, and treatment goals. Together, we identify the factors that may be contributing to your symptoms and discuss treatment options that align with your preferences and needs. Follow-up visits are focused on monitoring progress, refining your treatment plan, and addressing challenges as they arise. Depending on your situation, treatment may include medication management, lifestyle recommendations, lab evaluation, integrative testing, brief therapeutic interventions, and ongoing support. My approach is individualized, and treatment plans are adjusted as your needs and goals evolve.

I’ve been seeing this provider for over three years and even followed her from her previous practice. She truly listens and takes the time to understand what’s really going on, rather than just treating symptoms. Medication decisions have always felt collaborative, and together we’ve found approaches that felt appropriate and effective for my needs. I highly recommend her.
Maggie might be the smartest person I know. She has been extremely helpful from the very beginning and I appreciate her so much.
Are visits together very professional I’ve been through many clinics that haven’t really helped. They just push prescriptions and don’t ask how I’m feeling and take the time to learn who I am. I was with Maggie through a different clinic and now that she’s got her own practice. I followed her to her practice cause I really enjoy working with her and her working with me how well she understands Me. She truly is an amazing person.
I’ve been seeing her for a few years now and she’s really kept me on track. You can tell how much she cares about the people she’s working with and her caring approach and attitude is highly appreciated! I would recommend her to anyone I know who is has struggled. I cannot say enough nice things, and I don’t plan on ever seeing someone else!
Dr yorio took time with me, ensured I understood all of the options and how medications would work on my body. She is kind, encouraging, wise, and supportive.

For about seven years, I have seen many different psychiatrists and therapists, but none of them ever felt right. Dr. Yorio has been the one psychiatrist who truly helped me get to the root of my mental health challenges. Rather than focusing only on medication, she has helped me find healthy lifestyle changes and alternative strategies that work alongside treatment to achieve the best possible outcome. She consistently goes above and beyond for her patients, taking the extra time and effort to understand problems and find real solutions. Her dedication for helping people improve their lives makes her an outstanding psychiatrist.
