Maria Nieves is a bilingual (English and Spanish) Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Florida who has been practicing since 2022. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Nursing in 1997 from the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing specializing in psychiatry at Walden University in 2022. Additionally, she received her Doctor of Medicine from the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine. Maria has more than 26 years of clinical experience in various settings, including primary care, emergency room, oncology, home health, and acute/inpatient psychiatric care. She specializes in the management of ADHD, with the ability to prescribe stimulant medications, interpret diagnostic screenings, and review computerized testing results. She also provides guidance and medication management using genetic testing. Maria is both competent and confident in caring for children and teens, sensitive to their needs throughout development, including college-age students. She has experience working with patients suffering from mood disorders who are also diagnosed with neurodevelopmental and neurocognitive challenges. Maria has cared for patients of all ages and offered comforting support to their families. As a nurse, she believes patients should be treated like family, and this is always her first focus and responsibility.

I have a hard time understanding Maria Nieves. I do not speak spanish. When i dont understand everything she says. So i ask her to repeat things and that is okay with me.

I enjoy the love and appreciation that lifestance gives to me the front desk is very helpful at times of need my portal is of need and source and the expression it gives to be apart knowing the frustrations I could have but the staff is will to help me at my concerns whenever I enjoy it i review my appointment today but it did not do my sigma so i assume I was checked up well and gave me a brighter boost not to be much overwhelmed as I was thanks.

Maria is a lovely Nurse! She’s kind and understanding wanting to make sure that any medicine given actually helps not harm. As she starts with the lowest dosage trial.
She’s very sweet and I’m glad I had a chance to work with her as she has been the first person to make me feel comfortable with Psychiatric Medicine.
I hope for more nurses to be like her and share her kindness. As I’ve experienced a lot of harm in this industry and a little understanding helps a lot.
