Dr. Pirraglia earned her medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.  She completed her residency at the New York Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell Medical College and affiliated institutions, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Hospital for Special Surgery, and Rockefeller University. Her training was very broad, encompassing patient recovery from high-performance athletic injuries, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, bone fractures and orthopedic surgery, cancer, critical burns, cardiac events, and strokes.  Dr. Pirraglia is an experienced electromyographer proficient in electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCS) used to assess muscle and nerve health. Symptoms of numb hands or feet, muscle twitches, leg cramps, weakness, limping, sciatica or shooting pain often warrant further investigation to locate nerve damage and reveal the source of pain. Muscle and nerve testing can identify irritated nerve roots as in cervical or lumbar radiculopathies, diagnose peripheral neuropathies as in diabetes or carpal tunnel syndrome, and assess neuromuscular disease. Dr. Pirraglia is a published author and an invited guest lecturer on sports rehabilitation topics for several prestigious medical universities. She has practiced neuromuscular medicine in both inpatient and outpatient facilities on both the east and west coasts.
