Maria Satmary, RDN

Dietitian
MI
My interest in nutrition sparked around the time I was 16 years old when I struggled with my own health and fitness concerns. I was unhappy with my weight and body image and knew I needed to start making changes if I wanted to feel better. The more I learned about nutrition and the immense impact it can have on our overall well-being, the more passionate I became. That is when I decided to pursue my career as a registered dietitian. I earned my Associate's degree from County College of Morris and my Bachelor's in Food Science and Nutrition from Montclair State University. Seeing firsthand the positive effects that building healthier habits had grew my passion for nutrition even more. Building those healthy habits eventually led to lifestyle changes, and that is exactly what I aspire to help others with. Whatever your individual goals may be, it is my mission to help you take the right steps toward making sustainable lifestyle changes that still allow you to enjoy your life. My specialties include mindful eating, plant-based/vegan/vegetarian nutrition, weight management, heart health, disordered eating, and building a healthy relationship with food and body image, as I believe this is the foundation of our long-term nutritional health. Some of my favorite ways to support my clients are by celebrating the small wins, cheering them on with positive affirmations, and approaching every counseling session with empathy. I take pride in guiding clients to find the root causes behind their nutritional concerns and determining the best approach to reach their individual goals.
