About Mariano Siragusa

Mariano Siragusa is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner who is currently specializing in Urology. Prior to working in Urology for Richmond University Medical Center, Mariano was working for Optum health care where he cared for long term care patients in multiple nursing home settings in Brooklyn. Before becoming a Nurse Practitioner Mariano was a Registered Nurse for nine years. The last five years of his nursing career was spent at New York Presbyterian Columbia Emergency Room, where he cared for a variety of patients with many different illnesses.
NP Siragusa is a native Staten Islander, he completed both his BSN and MSN at the College of Staten Island. Mariano graduated top of his class when he completed his MSN. While in school his experience began in Urology where he completed hours as part of his clinical rotation. Mariano is proud to serve the Staten Island community and is grateful to be a part of Richmond University Medical Center team.

I booked an appointment to see the doctor and was instead assigned NP Siragusa. He was a very poor listener, and it’s clear that he does not have much experience with urology patients with vaginas. The entire office features advertisements for medicines for cisgender male patients, and people with penises. Not a ingle diagram to be found of a vagina. Additionally, he suggested that maybe my bodily issue was due to a “feminine issue” and suggested I consider that my urinary issue was a gynecological issue. Somehow, I said one thing and he heard another. Lastly, I went thru lab testing and it took close to a full month before I got my labs, and I had to call the office 4x to ask him to return my call and provide the results. He never did. I had to call my primary doctor to have her get them to fax the results to her because they had no sense of urgency. None of the staff wears a mask, the bathroom doesn’t have hand soap. It’s a very unpleasant office. Won’t be returning.
