Getting to know Marinette Zibi

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I am passionate about helping individuals find healing, balance, and hope. I believe that every person’s story matters and that mental health care should always be compassionate, respectful, and deeply personal. My approach is rooted in listening — truly hearing each patient’s experience — and working together to create a treatment plan that supports emotional growth and overall well-being. Over the years, I have had the privilege of helping patients navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and life transitions. I combine evidence-based care with a warm, patient-centered approach, focusing not only on symptom relief but also on building resilience, self-awareness, and long-term wellness. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space where you can feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and emotions, knowing that you are not alone in this journey. Together, we’ll work toward creating meaningful change and helping you reconnect with your strengths and sense of peace.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you begin working with me, you can expect a warm, nonjudgmental space where your story is valued and your voice matters. My approach is collaborative — we will work together to understand your challenges, explore your strengths, and create a care plan that truly fits your needs and goals. I believe that healing begins with trust and connection. During our sessions, I take time to listen carefully and ensure you feel heard and supported. I blend evidence-based practices, psychotherapy, and (when appropriate) medication management to promote balance in both mind and body. My goal is not only to help you find relief from distressing symptoms but also to empower you with tools for lasting emotional growth and self-discovery. I encourage open communication — we will move at your pace, and I’ll always take time to explain options and answer your questions so that you feel comfortable and involved in every step of your care.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, I take time to get to know you — your history, current concerns, goals, and what you hope to gain from treatment. This initial evaluation helps me understand the whole picture of your mental, emotional, and physical well-being. We’ll explore your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle factors, and stressors in a calm, supportive environment. After the assessment, I share my impressions and discuss a personalized treatment plan. This may include psychotherapy, lifestyle recommendations, and, when appropriate, medication management. I always take time to explain each option clearly, answer your questions, and ensure you feel comfortable with every decision. Follow-up sessions are collaborative and focused on progress. We review how you’ve been feeling, adjust treatment as needed, and continue building coping strategies and insight. I incorporate elements of talk therapy, mindfulness, and education throughout our work together, helping you develop lasting tools for emotional resilience and self-understanding. My goal is to walk beside you in this journey — supporting you with empathy, clinical expertise, and care that honors your unique story.

Meeting Dr. Zibi for the first time was a great experience; she was warm, attentive, and a really good listener, and I would definitely recommend her. Although her initial understanding of how to work with interpreters did not seem very strong, she was open and willing to adapt by using my suggested method of accessing an interpreter through a videophone service while we met face-to-face via the video platform set up through Zocdoc, which made communication much smoother. So I really appreciate how she quickly adapted over time to my deafness. I look forward to continuing to work with her over time.

I am extremely disappointed by this doctor. Despite listing Medicaid as an accepted insurance they apparently do not take "Amerigroup Medicaid" which would be fine, except that they decided not to inform me of this at all. I waited 10 minutes past my appointment time before calling to inquire why my appointment hadn't been respected. When the phone was answered it sounded like a sketchy overseas call center, which was jarring. The secretary was unprofessional and his only defense was that "it slipped his mind" to inform me that my insurance wasn't accepted. Another disappointment from both ZocDoc and low budget med school failures.

Dr. Zibi is great!! She has good bedside manner and takes her time to do a thorough assessment of you mental health, medical, and social history as well as current medications. She then discusses your current presenting issues is any, examines the medications your currently taking and then proposes changes. If she adds a new medication, she takes your medical history into account as well as medication interactions. She’s highly intelligent, very attentive, has a desire to help, is thorough and honest and her treatment plans work! I’m grateful for finding her!

This was the absolute worst experience i have ever had as a first time patient. This office, specifically Ali, who i had the displeasure of speaking with was not prepared prior to my appointment time and procrastinated the entire duration of the session to provide the link. At 11:10 he ensured me the doctor would send me the link and then provided the incorrect number for the doctors direct line. I ended up googling her and found her number only for her to tell me she was frustrated, as if i couldn’t have possibly been after playing phone tag, facing incompetence, and needing this spot all during mental health awareness month. I asked her why didn’t she use my points of contact to make initial communication instead of projecting her feelings. She stated the number on my file was incorrect, yet i have an email present and have a voicemail from Ali. Which proves my number was provided but not communicated in their office. After 30 minutes of the back and forth- they marked me a no show

Awesome! Very concerned with patients well being. Doesn’t treat you like just an insurance claim. She truly cares about her patients! Highly recommend

Never answers the phone. Books appointments and then don’t show up only to have her assistant tell me she left early although she still had my appointment.

Very helpful and felt she took the time to ask questions. Got to know my issues and prescribed a medication to help. Very polite and had a good since of humor. Would highly recommend her to anyone.

An amazing listener, I wanted to truly get to know me vs. just what disorders I had to throw whatever at me. She was focused on the problem I brought up wanting help for vs. going on a wild goose chase. I get anxious with doctors as a lot do whatever they can to throw whatever at you but not her! Incredibly sweet, she asks specific questions and genuinely wants the details. We even got caught up with time. I would 100% recommend her, I'm honestly quite upset I can't see her again as my home state isn't MD. So if you can speak with her, do so!
