“My first apt I had trouble figuring things out on how to sign in and the receptionist called and sent me everything again and helped me through the process along with the Dr I saw was very kind and sensitive to me although it was the first time meeting with her.....also my paperwork wasn't done right off so she even worked with me on that.....I hope to be able to continue with her and for all my Apts to be just like this one or better if possible ??

Marissa's strong desire and passion for providing services to individuals struggling with mental health problems was the driving force behind her attainment of her psychiatric mental health NP license. She earned her Master's in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from City University of New York, Hunter College. She believes in treating people with compassion and empathy in a caring, non-judgmental, holistic manner. Marissa believes that all groups and classes of people will go through some form of mental, behavioral, emotional, or psychiatric ailment within their lifetime, and that all deserve caring and compassionate mental health professionals to help them navigate difficult times and regain direction in their lives. She is excited and looks forward to making a positive impact in the lives of the clients she serves at Carmel Psych Associates.

This woman should not be an np, she has minimal regard for those suffering from mental health issues. I had four appointments with this "np" and 3 of the 4 appointments she tried to convince me that we should not work together, including the first appointment, instead of addressing my mental health concerns. She goes through the motions and has little regard for the health issues. I needed a letter/email from her for my employer simply stating that I was under her care and she refused to provide such a letter. She speaks over the patient, was late to each appointment, showed little to no concern regarding my mental health and was very rude.

I'm a person that has undergone years and years of therapy. Every single one of my therapist's advised I start medication. I, like many others, was VERY hesitant to start medication. I finally decided that I wanted to seek a consultation and I did copious amounts of research. I stumbled upon Marissa on Zocdoc and to say she has been the best is an understatement. She is non-judgmental and understanding. Marissa is a person that truly listens and cares about her patients. She answered all of my questions and reassured every single worry I had. If you are a person that has been reluctant to start medication, I advise you talk to Marissa. She won't pressure you to start medication but she can address your situation with compassion. She is super sweet and made me feel comfortable at every step :)

To say Marissa Dwarica has changed my life would be an understatement.
