“Dr. Miyazaki is an incredible doctor and my mental health and well-being has improved greatly since I began seeing her for medication management to treat depression / anxiety in Sep 2019. She was very thorough in our first conversation and is by far the most knowledgeable, thoughtful and empathetic psychiatrist I've been a patient of in my 10+ years of seeing someone for anxiety. I am so grateful to have found Dr. Miyazaki when my insurance changed and I needed a new provider. It's easy to schedule appointments, she is consistently on time and if there are ever issues with my insurance/pharmacy she responds quickly & works with them so there is as little delay as possible. Could not recommend her more highly!!”

So happy to have found a psychiatrist with a modern practice and outlook. I won't be looking for a replacement any time soon.
Video visit
I felt so comfortable speaking with her and she was able to help me on the path to bettering myself. She’s wonderful!
She recommended me seeing other doc and send me list of referrals. But not responding to email after money paid.
Informative and to the point. It was quick, easy, and professional - which was exactly what I was looking for.
I had never been to a psychiatrist before and she made me feel comfortable. I look forward to my follow up!
Very patient, detailed approach. I’d recommend! I felt comfortable expressing my needs and concerns.

Dr. Miyazaki was very kind and attentive. She took the time before we met to review my history and symptoms. I did not feel rushed and she explained everything thoroughly. I was nervous about the appointment in general and also the fact that it was online. After a few minutes into the conversation I felt very relaxed. Having the telehealth appointment was very convenient and stress-free. I greatly appreciate Dr. Miyazaki's time and attentiveness.
Video visit
Dr. Miyazaki was wonderful, I felt very relaxed and listened to. Dr. Miyazaki was intentional about explaining things which I really appreciated! Very down to earth and quickly diagnosed and addressed the issues I was having.
Video visit
My first visit with Dr. Miyazaki was a video visit. I was a bit nervous but Dr. Miyazaki made me feel comfortable and at ease talking about my situation. I had a follow-up question and contacted Dr. Miyazaki through the patient portal and she responded right away. Finding Dr. Miyazaki on Zocdoc was a blessing.

She was very professional, friendly and helpful. One of the best experiences I have ever had. It can be scary to see someone new and open up but she made me feel comfortable and I trusted her. I look forward to seeing her again. Highly recommend.

I had one appointment with her and she canceled all followup appointments. Psychiatrists in general are weird. It was my first time seeking therapy and she left me high and dry. I wish she had followed through. I would recommend a social work therapist and seeking your PCP for prescriptions instead.
Dr. Miyazaki is incredibly knowledgeable and understanding. Highly recommended - I consider myself lucky and so grateful to have her on my treatment team.
Video visit
Dr. Miyazaki is a psychiatrist who I see for medication management. She's not a therapist or a counselor or a psychotherapist. If you want to do talk therapy see one of those people... What I appreciate about her is that I can talk freely about my mood and behaviour as a result of different medications for my mental health-- I don't feel as though she drags me along to "wait and see" so she can get another visit paycheck from me. She always has an informed opinion and isn't afraid to give fact-checks to me about interactions and side effects. I can tell she's knowledgeable. She listens to my opinions. If I don't like a medication she's receptive and adapts the treatment plan. She's also easy to get a hold of and responds in a timely manner if there are any questions. She is also very organized and on time which is a plus!
Telepsychiatry so far has been a wonderful and convenient experience. Dr. Miyazaki spent a little extra time for my first appointment and answered ALL questions I had.
I found her to be very communicative and articulate in the way she discussed treatment and my general well being. Honestly one of the most engaged and direct physicians I have ever worked with. I was not sure what to expect with a tele doc visit but here to give it a rave review!
She was wonderful! Very efficient. She reviewed my intake form prior to the consultation so she was aware of the issues I had and was able to diagnose me. She informed me of the treatment options and plans. We discussed medication options that would be best for me and next steps. She was kind, very personable, very informative, prepared and provided me with a great experience—especially it being my first time seeing this type of doctor.
I was a little confused at first as to how I would be contacted, but right @ my appointment time I received the call. Dr. Marissa is compassionate, understanding, down to earth , and relatable. From the very begining I felt so comfortable just laying out everything going on the table so she could make a proper assessment. Within the hour I felt like I understood the medicinal path she chose for me and I am excited to continue my journey with her!
It was my first initial session. The session was done via telehealth. The appointment was made right away and Melissa sent me a step by step instruction guide. During the video conference, it was convenient. Melissa was very thorough and took her time with me. She addressed any concerns right away. Definitely recommended.
Great Psychiatrist! Super positive energy. Listened intently to my problems and worked to find the best solution to my problem. Would recommended.
This was my first session. She came off to me as having a really good balance of warmth and compassion mixed with a very knowledgeable and medical approach to problem solving. She asked the right questions so when I answered she was able to take that information and describe to me the various solutions we could explore. At no time did I feel she was just going through the motions or phoning it in or anything like that. She made me feel she was genuinely interested in finding out about my problems and needs and putting together the best possible plan forward for me. I would recommend.
She is a wonderful Doctor.
She was warm and listened carefully, asking thoughtful questions. I was impressed at how quickly she seemed to pick up on some longstanding personal struggles. I was dealing with that were unrelated to the main problem. We came to a treatment plan by the end of the first session and I am happy so far with the results. I was nervous about seeing a psychiatrist but she made me feel comfortable, understood and heard. Highly recommend.
I only spoke with Dr. Miyazaki a couple of hours ago, however I will already state that one aspect that has really stood out is her responsiveness -- both in willingness to be approachable prior to and after the appointment, but also her resolve to help alleviate pertinent issues in a timely manner. It takes a fair bit of courage to seek help, and I consider myself fortunate to be a patient of Dr. Miyazaki.
Dr. Miyazaki is thorough, kind and brilliant. I was blown away by how knowledgeable she was. Dr. Miyazaki not only was able to address my medication concerns but was also able to share bits and pieces of the evidence base she pulled from. I absolutely loved that I left the visit both with a medication plan and with a collection of wellness steps which might help improve my mental health. I look forward to my next visit!
Dr. Miyazaki is AMAZING! She is very professional, very straight forward, she listens, and highly intelligent. She has a very calming voice and calm energy. She is very organized with my pill management and works to do her best to make things concise and easy to manage for my day to day. Dr. Miyazaki is efficient with follow up and sending prescriptions. Over all she is just AMAZING and I highly recommend her for your needs.
This was my first session with Dr. Miyazaki and my experience was really good! We had a phone call and it was my initial consultation and she prescribed me some mediation to help with my symptoms.
Thumbs way down
Thorough and very helpful.

fantastic!
Had such a great first visit with Dr. Miyazki - she was warm and kind but also very direct and knowledgeable. She listened carefully and provided information about prescriptions and treatment options that I had never gotten from previous psychiatrists. I am looking forward to seeing her again. Would highly recommend!
She was very professional.
Most problematically, she was very blase about changing all of my medications at once. In addition, she did not follow through on statements regarding prescriptions and when I tried to message her in the communication system she set up, I did not receive a reply.
First time in therapy and I was very pleased. Very professional, excellent "bedside manner," and an overall enjoyable and helpful experience. I highly recommend.
Very productive
Made me feel like I was talking to a friend. Exactly what you are looking for when going for this kind of service. Highly, highly recommend Dr. Miyazaki.
She has an attitude which I may be just inventing, either way we don't get along and her treatment plan made me worse off. Luckily, I have had a good support network to make up for it. She is caring, but tends to have a certain edge to her voice at times, which made me uncomfortable. If you are creative, artistic, and openminded, you should probably find someone more like yourself. She didn't know what to do with me, and seemed reluctant to give me a really clear letter of recommendation to return from medical leave. Basically, she makes me feel uncomfortable and fails to grasp what is going on in my mind.
Simply put... Dr. Miyazaki is by far one of the best mental health professionals I have ever had the pleasure to meet/work with. A somewhat rarity in this field, she *legitimately* listens, cares and is wiling to work with you--in even the most complex/difficult of scenarios. Her knowledge and depth of understanding, relative to (what seems to be) any area within the field, is encyclopedic. Count it a privilege if you ever have the chance to meet with Dr. Miyazaki.
This was my first visit; it took awhile to get an appt as I was a new patient. The appt was wonderful. But I find the office unresponsive; I've called twice for another appt & a medication refill without a response. I will call again today
