Patient reviews for Dr. Marissa Santos
The doctor was late and sped through the check up when they did make it to the office. Confirmation for prescription was never made and upon making a new appointment to follow up, they asked to make the time later, when I was not available. Now I'm trying to cancel the appointment but cannot do so because their office is closed.
Nurses were nice and the internist was nice. I had to wait over 2 hours though to see a doctor. Also they didn't write a prescription they called it in and the place didn't accept my insurance. Now I have to call the doctor and tell them to prescribe it to me or call a place that accepts my insurance
Well it's kinda frustrating at first since I booked an appointment (for the doctor to fill up my form for work related) Wednesday 6pm exactly in Woodside however when I got there it's already closed so double checked everything since I received text notification from zocdoc about my appointment then I called Rego Park branch just to see if I'm supposed to be there but no answer. So I called next day and good thing they helped me right away!
She’s a fabulous doctor !! Very informative and patient. She listens and makes you feel comfortable which is very important !
Dr. Santos is a fantastic doctor. Kind, knowledgeable and compassionate. I've been going to her practice for 20 years. I highly recommend her.
Everyone that works in the office are always very pleasant and helpful. Dr. Santos always shows so much care with her extends her time explaining anything I have concerns about.
Would not return to this doctor. It's chaotic and sometimes have to sit in a narrow hallway facing a wall as staff and other patients bump into you several times as they walk past you. Also never had a doctor flat out say I will not prescribe a certain Rx bc it's already so 'over prescribed'. My conditions have NOTHING to do with what other doctors do or how other people use or misuse their medicines. Never have I ever met such a judgemental doctor, doctors are supposed to listen to you and your symptoms and give you an unsolicited lecture about other people's problems. Very unprofessional. Also, u will likely get passed off to one of the dozens of other chaotic staff, good luck trying to figure out where you are going or if your appt is even done or not...u may find urself standing in the hectic hallway scratching your head...
More than an hour wait time
Just be prepared to wait a while. The visit was faster than the wait time. The doctor was very nice , and the office staff were so nice and professional.
The visit was great.. doctor santos was very friendly. She listened and answered all my question. The staff was great as well. The wait was not bad either...
They don't know what they are doing down there.
Dr. Santos was professional. She was attentive and actually listened and made appropriate recommendation for my healthcare going forward. I look forward to many years of association with Dr.Santos.
Dr. Santos is a professional who at the end of the day cares for all her patients. She's honest and thorough explaining everything and anything.
The 3 staff members sitting at the receptionist desk did not acknowledging me standing in front of the desk waiting to be checked in for over 5 minutes, everything else was great.
Dr. Santos and staff were friendly; the office was nice and clean. Only downside was the long wait (showed up 15 min prior to appointment and still had to wait almost 1 hr before seeing the doctor). Seems like they overbook patients.
Dr. Santos was lovely, excellent bedside manner.
The office looks nice! Perfectly managed, smells good aroma!!! Doctor is very friendly and great bedside manners. They have an app to message the office if you need anything makes my life so easy. Highly recommended.
Although Dr. Santos has a good bedside manner, it is overshadowed by the long wait times of 90 minutes and longer, the lack of follow up on her office to respond to the pharmacy calls to have prescriptions refilled, the inability to be able to reach a live person who will answer the phone, and the fact that some of the staff does not seem to be very friendly. Every time I need a prescription refilled the Pharmacy has to call me to request that her office contact them to confirm that my maintenance medication be refilled. Why in the world do I have to be put through this. It is unprofessional on their part and could very well cause a medical emergency. I am very tired of the effort that I have to exert being a patient at this practice. I really need to find another doctor. ( Additionally, the office is very small ( in Rego Park- patients have to wait in the hallway, oftentimes) and both her offices are always overcrowded. It is really not worth the aggravation.
She is Excellent! Highly recommend
The office is beautiful. Clean and new. Nice equipment. But the space is cramped. I waited 2 and a half hours before I was seen by an assistant of the doctor. I wish they would advertise stating that you maybe seen by Dr Santos or her assistant. The assistant was nice but after 2 1/2 hours I felt rushed . The girl who took my history didn't finish. She got up and left out of the room before she got to any comprehensive questions. I think it's important for them to know my medical history before they treat a patient. Good thing this was only a physical. I will not be returning.
Check in process was easy. I love that they are up to date with technology. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Dr. Marissa's consultation was overall superb!
The staff is for the most part friendly, the front desk staff just always looks grumpy. It is busy, so be prepared to wait for at least 40 minutes.
Dr. Santos is a great doctor. I have been her patient for a long time. Always professional and compassionate. You could not ask for a better doctor if you are sick or well.
I appreciate good service
I love the doctor. She is very compassionate and very knowledgeable. She listened to all my concerns and took time. Everything in the clinic is so organized. They have express check-in kiosk that is so techy. And then I got to the room right away. I love this office.
I,was call by the nurse right away after I checked in their kiosk. I was also given my patient portal login so I could communicate to their office anytime. I have so many concerns about my health and the doctor answered it. She is very personable.... and dressed nicely. The office smells good, more like a spa. Everything looks like brand new well-kept office. I want to go back here and tell my friends to come here..
Dr. Santos is a great doctor, but doesn't know how to manage her workload and patients. I have waited for over 2 hours for every single appointment. Her office is too small & she overbooks. Not worth it.
I was taken in right away. The office is so nice and smells good! The nurses are good and the doctor is very professional and pleasant.
Not a thorough annual exam. I had a cold at the time. Some doctors just love to prescribe, prescribe, prescribe and she is one of those doctors, despite me telling her I am breastfeeding and want to naturally heal my cold.
Dr marissa is excelent she' listen your concern and everything she tried to resolve for you
she is always in a hurry, to be honest i dont know how she has patients. she is not professional at all, it seems that she only wants to see patients to collects copays or insurance claims. I WILL NEVER NEVER NEVER RECOMMEND THIS DR
Dr. Marissa is very approachable and friendly. It's just like talking to a friend. My questions were all answered and I'm happy.
I had to wait 1.5 hours after my scheduled appointment to be seen. The front desk staff didn't acknowledge me as I stood there waiting to ask her a question about the wait time, and the waiting room was completely packed with the same people after an hour. By the time I was seen by the NP, she checked my vitals in 5 minutes for a physical and said I was complete without any further information. I had to ask her to give me some directions to what to do next. She then told me I can go to the front desk because I was complete with my appointment. The front desk then told me to go to the back to get my blood work while another patient was there sharing his patient information. Then I was told by the assistant to urinate in a tube (I have no idea how she expected me to urinate perfectly into a tube) and then sit behind her as she proceeded to talk to a different patient about his medical history in front of me in which I tried really hard to not listen to. I don't think that is appropriate for anyone to hear about someone else's health needs if they aren't a provider. Those spaces need to be barricaded off for patient privacy. I was not pleased with the patient care I received here. I have tried to like this place as it is my third time here, but I've given it enough chances in hoping it would improve.
The doctors are great, most of the staff friendly. Nice, clean environment. I was highly upset due to the fact that I had a 9am appointment, was first to arrive before the office was even open. Was also first to check in, yet was seen after serval other clients.
The doctor is great, but the waiting time is tiring.
Happy to find her because she is a Filipina and a Thomasian like me: lovely, caring doctor in contrast with her assistant who saw me first. He was rude, pretentious, smug, insensitive!
It was ok. Wish the doctor actually check me herself, she only came in to say hello because I asked if I was going to see her but the nurse was actually who consult me. It was my annual physical and it felt rush. No one check my skin, my weight, I complained of abdominal pain, was given reflux medicine right away. Overall, it was ok but it didn't allow me to create a bond with the doctor who is suppose to be my primary care. Will be looking for another one. One good thing it is that they do the blood work and ekg in-house.
I feel excelente with how treat me !!! She is very profesional doctor !!!
I've been to this office a few times. Dr. Santos, as well as her PA and staff are really friendly. I would recommend this practice to others looking for a primary care physician. Sometimes the office is a bit cramped, but this is kind of balanced out with the clean atmosphere and seemingly modern technology.
I only met with Dr. Santos for a minute or two, but she seemed nice enough. I instead met with the physician assistant, who was extremely pleasant. He listened to everything I had to say and was very thorough in his responses. I felt very well cared for by him. One thing I found particularly uncomfortable that left a very sour taste in my mouth was a comment by the On-boarding nurses. While gathering info, she laughed and told me that I didn't "look" depressed when we discussed mental health. As someone who works in the medical field, it was alarming and disgusting how that comment came off. I almost left the office then because I didn't trust the office, given that they hired this person. She also assumed my racial background without asking me (I am mixed race) and repeatedly asked me the same questions on medicines and surgical history, but would repeat back completely different information from what I had said. This happened multiple times. I don't count any of this against my review since this review is for the attending PA, who was fantastic. Still, I thought it was distressing enough to make a note of this. Someone with such little respect for their patients like this nurse should absolutely not be working here.
I've been meaning to get a primary care doctor for a while now, and I'm happy to say I've found one in Dr. Santos! I was able to book an appointment for the next day through ZocDoc at the Woodside office, which was great. The offices in general were new and very clean. The waiting room was comfortable - even though I was only waiting about 10 minutes anyway! Fastest I've been seen by a doctor in NYC. The staff was all great and all women, which I loved. I was nervous because I had to have 7 vials of blood drawn for various tests, but the nurse was such a pro it was no big deal. She distracted me with conversation and before I knew it, she was done! I didn't feel a thing beyond the initial prick. Super impressed! Dr. Santos was herself wonderful. I was seen within 10-15 minutes of having my vitals, etc by the nurse. She was very personable and professional, and made me feel right at ease, explaining everything I needed to know and answering my questions without making me feel rushed. Highly recommend!
As soon as I came in, they took me right away to have vitals taken. The nurse was thorough in asking me my health history, and then saw Dr.Santos. she is awesome. Very professional and easy to talk to. I asked her so many questions and she answered it all. I didn't feel I was being rushed. The patient portal is great, I could check and send messages to the office.
Dr. Santos is so knowledgeable. She makes sure that all my needs are being taken care of. And office is really.
Spa office! Techy and friendly staff. Nurse is very friendly. Knowledgeable and great doctor. Office smells good. What else should I ask for? This office is so organized. Highly recommended!
The office was tiny, but very organized. The office manager even greeted me warmly. I saw a nurse practitioner today, she is as knowledgeable as a medical doctor. Everyone was so accomodating to me. I panicked when I learned I had to do bloodwork, but it was a not painful at all. If I had to recommend my friends and family there, I would do in a heartbeat. Im sticking to this doctor!
This is the second time I've been to this office for a doctor's appointment. Everyone there is really nice. This past visit, I was seen by the Physician's Assistant Mario Nova. Very good bedside manner, and was able to help with what I came to visit for. I'm also getting weekly allergy shots from this office, and the allergy team is friendly and thorough.
