About Marissa Sharkey

This provider is not licensed in the state of CT, MA, MD, NY, IN, OK, OR, TN, WA, HI, MT, IL, VT Hi there, my name is Marissa and I have been a Registered Dietitian for 7 years. I started my career working in a hospital environment where I primarily worked in ICUs. I truly love what I do and am passionate about helping others achieve their healthiest lifestyle that feels good and balanced to them. I love animals and have 2 cats named Graycie and Finnegan who bring me so much joy. I am obsessed with skincare and beauty as I have a license in cosmetology but decided to pursue nutrition instead. My nutrition philosophy includes but is not limited to that nutrition should be simple, easy to access, and inclusive. I invite you to openly discuss your nutrition struggles in a safe, compassionate and judgment free environment. I am a huge advocate for your autonomy, developing a good relationship with food and positive mental health. I believe food doesn't have moral value. Weight loss is complex as we may shift focus to health habits first to encourage optimal health. I infuse (when appropriate) body image work, reflection on what health means to you, social constructs surrounding weight/body size and health at every size concepts when working towards health goals such as weight loss.
