I've seen Dr. Shakir for five-six years. She is detail-oriented, studies my chart carefully, asks pertinent questions, and orders annual tests relevant to my history. She also respects it when I'm not ready to pursue a recommended path. She has a lovely bedside manner.

Dr. Shakir listened to my expressed concern and was interested in getting the whole picture of my health rather than being focused on one narrow parameter. Consequently, we ordered the right tests to determine that I did have a particular treatable issue that another doctor had missed and now I am receiving appropriate treatment. Also it was incredibly quick - I was in and out, including a blood draw, in less than an hour!

Dr. Shakir did a very poor job of sharing results with me. She promised to follow up with blood work and I did not hear a word about it until I came back in for another check-up. That check-up resulted in more testing, all off-site, and I called three separate times inquiring about the results. To date, several months later, I still don't have them. I had to go to urgent care to get any answers.

My appointment was for 9am (confirmed by ZocDoc and a call from office staff last week) but when I arrived I was informed that the doctor doesn’t come in until 9:30. Please update this on ZocDoc. Otherwise the visit was fine.

I have been treated very poorly by doctors in the past and I have quite a bit of anxiety about seeing a new doctor. However, Dr. Shakir was kind, patient, and listened to my concerns. What a relief.

Dr Shakir was great at listening to my concerns and making sure I left feeling that everything was addressed and we had a plan of action. The front office was very busy, but the practice is shared by multiple doctors and there were multiple new patients being inputted.

This was my first time seeing Dr. Shakir. I found her to be very personable and thorough. She answered all of my medical questions and concerns. She called me promptly with test results and discussed my medications. I am very happy with this doctor.

Dr. Shakir was very nice However, I had a pretty significant needless scare when Dr. shakir told me that my EKG was abnormal, and that there was some swelling in my heart. She referred me to see a cardiologist that same day. I was pretty alarmed since I have always been very healthy and I have never had any heart issues before. Well, Luckily the cardiologist did another EKG and everything was completely normal. He explained to me that Dr. Shakir had done the EKG on an alternate setting which lead her to misread the results. I realize that we all make mistakes, but botching an EGK reading seems pretty serious.
I hope that this does not happen again to other patients.
