Getting to know Mark Awanyai

EOS Nursing provides general psychiatric evaluation and medication management for adults. Services are delivered through a trauma-informed, patient-centered approach, with care provided via telehealth and select in-person visits when appropriate.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I’m a Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who believes effective care starts with understanding the whole person, not just a diagnosis. I work with adults experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, mood changes, attention difficulties, sleep issues, and life stressors. My style is collaborative, direct, and respectful. I value clear explanations, thoughtful recommendations, and shared decision-making. I aim to create a space where clients feel heard, taken seriously, and supported as we work toward meaningful improvement.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach is collaborative, thoughtful, and practical. I focus on understanding the full picture of what someone is experiencing—current symptoms, relevant history, and day-to-day functioning—so we can create a clear and realistic treatment plan together. Care may include medication management, psychoeducation, and coordination with therapy or other supports when helpful. I value clear communication, shared decision-making, and evidence-based care. I aim to help clients feel informed, supported, and empowered in their treatment—not rushed or pressured. I also practice with a trauma-informed lens, prioritizing safety, respect, and trust throughout the process. During the first session, you can expect a calm, structured, and respectful conversation. We’ll focus on what’s bringing you in, review relevant history, and clarify your goals for care. By the end of the visit, clients typically leave with a clearer understanding of what may be contributing to their concerns, what treatment options make sense, and what the next steps are. You won’t be rushed or talked down to—just supported with clarity, intention, and professionalism.
