About Dr. Mark Baker

Dr. Baker was born and raised in Northwest Indiana. He served in the U.S. Army and went to school on an ROTC scholarship from 1990-1998. During that time, he received his Master Fitness Trainer Certification through the Army and was selected to compete for the Army’s Marathon and Winter Biathlon teams Dr. Baker graduated from Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, TX in 1998. Upon graduation, he was offered his dream job of working in Dublin, Ireland. While in Ireland, Dr. Baker had the opportunity to work with the National Athletic Stadium and treat some of the top athletes in Ireland before the 2000 Olympics. He gained a wealth of experience and knowledge working with such high level athletes and therapists while overseas. He brought that knowledge home with him in 2001 and worked for two years continuing to gain experience while working with educators and doctors in places as varied as Jamaica and Alaska. With that experience, Dr. Baker founded Elite Healthcare in Chicago in 2003. Dr. Baker is a skilled practitioner and an educator; he has given hundreds of lectures on health and health related topics over the past 15 years, with a focused interest on athletes and athletic injuries. Being an athlete himself, Dr. Baker ran marathons (in his younger days) and had aspirations of making the Olympic marathon team in 2000. He currently competes in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and has won many competitions including the North American Grappling Association Midwest Tournament and just recently won the Onnit World Open mens expert black belt division.
